Townsend Artisan Gallery — Attraction in Townsend

Firstly, I am blown away by some of the pieces available and displayed on this site, they are amazing. However, I am more than a little concerned about the non inclusive attitude of the juried artist committee who admits (judges and rules over) the artists into this group. Very disappointed for a fellow artist who wanted to submit work and was advised it was student grade and “Bob Ross class” level! It was not! I would expect a more supportive and inclusive attitude. What a shame for artists who are not always confident and are very vulnerable sharing their art. The world is hard enough, don’t smother another’s fire and passion. I am from the other side of world and I want to say, anyone in this community who is an artist who has been rejected by this committee, keep trying and keeping going, keep giving your light to others!...

This is a cooperative of local juried artists. There is a gallery space featuring jewelry, pottery, paintings, prints, silk scarves and other lovely art pieces. There is also studio space where the artists can work. This art gallery is staffed by the artists, so stop in and visit.
