The park is beautiful. My family and friends have attended several times. The new additions are a total plus. Unfortunately my last visit was a disappointment.
During the gathering with four other parents and their children a woman working for the park approached our group in a negative manner. She asked "Who are you? Where are you from?" We had been gathered for a little over an hour prior to her approach. She proceeded to tell me about a permit being required for gatherings of more than 12. The manner in which she approached us was rude. She proceeded to discuss limited space in the park and gatherings being ok for only certain purposes. So it was clear that our group of parents and children did not fit her personal park guests criteria.
We were not occupying a pavilion and should not have been approached and questioned about occupying space in a public park. Since when is it a problem for parents and their children to gather at a city/county park? She made several inappropriate assumptions. There are more respectful ways to implement a park policy.
So the park is beautiful, but staff training on respecting all visiting community members is...
Read moreI have to honestly say that Lake Roland is DEFINITELY the Most Beautiful Park there is in the state of Maryland and also in Baltimore County. Like ever since back in March that when I first visited Lake Roland, I immediately fell in ⤠with this park. And so in love to the fact that for one, when I first started to listen to an oldie, but goodie song that came out in the 80's in which everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY love and sample their music to this song which is called Moments in Love by Art of Noise and that every time I come to Lake Roland, the Moments in love song had became my anthem when I go there so that's the first thing. And then second is that I actually did a video on June 14, 2018 where I said that I love coming to Lake Roland so much that I said that I want to invite both of my favorite WWE Hall of Famer Superstars Trish Stratus AND Amy "Lita" Dumas to come to this beautiful park. So yeah, what a beauty of Lake Roland and that how I wish and hoping that I will still to continue visiting my "secret getaway". And here are some of my memories for the past 6 months of my love affair with Lake Roland that I hope you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLovely natural play areas with some traditional playground elements, like swings, slides and climbing features, but also a sandbox, mud pit, climbing and scrambling elements made from felled trees. Great paved paths for walking in the park and trails for running, hiking and biking all around the lake. A very nice, if modest, nature center staffed by knowledgeable and helpful rangers. I used to bring my dog here for freeplay and swimming before the county took over with its upgrades and rules, so I'll reserve from sharing my opinion as to THOSE tradeoffs. But, with improved maintenance and supervision of the park, the quality programming (including nature camp options for kids during the summer) and the boardwalk from the Light Rail station, it's undeniably a great place...
