Tropicool Italian Ice — Restaurant in Towson

Water ice is ok; Prices are cheap. Have been here multiple times. Be aware that the customer isn’t always right. Came here today, ordered from a young employee, paid in cash and was a little surprised at my change. I asked the older lady now at the window (the owner and not the girl I ordered from) if the change was correct. She barked at me loud enough for everyone to hear “yes” like I was trying to rip them off. I just didn’t understand how $4 + $5 + tax resulted in $7.32 change from a $20. It turned out I’m not terrible at simple math and Maryland doesn’t have a new 50% food tax- We just didn’t get what I ordered (in that my daughter’s small water ice was wrung up as a larger size). Rather than complain again, we left and I ended up throwing must of her water ice away because it was too much for her. I had even tipped. The reason I’m writing this review is I know mistakes happen, but she didn’t need to make me look like a scammer for their error. She could have just asked me what I had ordered rather than assumed...

The ice cream was good. However, the employee who took our order was very rude.She first yelled at my 80 year old grandmother because she had a cigarette in her hand toward the end of the deck. She screamed out the window "CAN'T YOU READ A SIGN!! AND ITS AGAINST FEDERAL LAW!!" . There are a thousand more polite ways of telling a customer no smoking on the deck.My grandmother walked away embarrassed and other customers came by to us to say how rude that woman was to us.I also looked around the deck and saw no sign that she claimed to be there.She then had a attitude when she finally took my order and overall this was NOT a good first time experience.I'm really hoping this was an off day for her and that she doesn't treat all her customers this way.I will be...

This was our first visit and we were very happy to have stopped in! My wife got a gelati (soft serve and ice in layers), I got a milkshake, and my daughter got a chocolate/vanilla twist cone. We all loved what we got, and I'm excited to come back and try some of the ice flavors. Oh, and the woman at the register was so friendly and patient with my exuberant daughter who had lots to say about her love of rainbow sprinkles. 😂

Edit: Third visit, got the ginger ice flavor. Absolutely exceptional. I can't believe how excellent it was. It had bits of real ginger in it! This place is becoming a weekly staple...
