While the surgical staff was kind, BEWARE of the financial aspect!! I was called beforehand with a quote for my shoulder surgery. I told them I would not be able to afford it due to my family solely being on SSDI for our income due to my husband’s terminal illness. They told me that my circumstances would qualify me for financial assistance and to come to my pre-op appt and fill out the necessary forms and submit my bank statement, etc, which I did. No one told me what to expect next and I had surgery a few days after this. Well after my surgery, I received a nearly $5,000 bill!! After calling financial assistance to inquire WHY and if they got my application, I got a voicemail message back that said they DID receive my application, but that I didn’t live in the right county to qualify and that someone should have told me! Unbelievable! When I called back again and left a message looking for answers, no one returned my call from FA again. I have spoken with billing several times and they aren’t able to help. They just want payment in full or a payment plan through Care Credit which I can’t afford the monthly payment on. I asked for an itemized bill too, with CPT codes and that also hasn’t happened. It says my full bill/charges which was submitted to insurance after surgery was almost $47,000?!! For shoulder surgery?? My husband was in the hospital for 4 days straight at another big hospital and the charges didn’t even reach the supposed cost of this surgery! Now I’ve gotten another bill for an assistant surgeon that appears to be coded wrong & asks for an additional $300, but I was told by the assistant surgeon’s billing office that their portion might not be covered because it says out of network and that an assistant wasn’t necessary for the surgery??! Again, how is that my fault?? There is a LOT wrong with the billing and charges here, so I CAUTION you to go anywhere but here. This has been a nightmare for me on top of dealing with a terminally ill spouse and no one there wants to help. They just want more money. I’m ready to contact the local news there to look into their crooked ways. It appears I’m not the only one who has had a problem like this with Baylor Trophy Club. I’d have never had surgery there if I knew...

My visit was an emergency - sudden sharp pain in the lower abdomin one inch down and to the right of the belly button. No, it was not appendicitis, and I still don't know what happened because the doctor literally said "I dunno." 5 hours, 1 CT scan later and I get an unprofessional who won't even look me in the eyes telling me "I dunno. Get some rest and come back if it happens again."
My bill was separated into 3 payables; the hospital, the doctor, the radiologist who assessed my scans. Without insurance, I rely on CareCredit to pay most of my medical bills. They told me they don't accept it. I see online that yes they do. Turns out the misinformed billing department forgot to add "The radiologist and doctor don't accept CareCredit." But the hospital does AND it's the highest bill out of all 3!! I'd kinda like to pay off the biggest chunk on my credit card immediately please! Which is another point I am upset about; how can (without insurance) a doctor cost only $1,000, an analyst about $300, but to sit in a bed and get 3 bags of saline pumped in and out of me for 5 hours cost $3,800?!?!
Fine. I'll pay your outrageous bill (which also is not itemized either) but I'd like to do it in a payment plan. Unfortunately, the option is not online. It's either 'pay in full or call someone to set up the plan for you' but that person NEVER ANSWERS. And her subordinates don't know and/or can't actually set up the payment plan for you. Every time I call I get transfered around by idiots only to finally land in someone's voicemail box. You'd think Baylor, a hospital boasting of it's advanced technology and excellent patient care would have more people trained and available to assist in billing or better yet HAVE THE OPTION TO PAY IN PART ONLINE!!!
And no, I will not be going back. I'd rather WebMD my symptoms and save myself from $5,000 worth of debt that I'll be paying off for the...
Read moreI had the worst experience there. I went in due to severe back pain. Explained I've gone to a chiropractor and had a deep massage, neither worked. One nurse was really sweet. The other, not so much. Once situated I was told they would give some pain meds and once the pain eased some, the doctor would come in and examine me. Nope. He came in RIGHT AFTER she walked out. He was asked again if he would wait til the meds kicked in. He said yes then started the exam. Apparently he doesn't know how to listen. Was never once asked my history other than if I've had this pain before and if I'm allergic to anything. So he starts the exam, asks me to show him where it hurts, when I can't due to the pain....he forces me to sit up and I start to cry. My mom freaked out and told him I have no pain meds in me and he's making me cry. Instead of letting me back down and waiting on meds....he just continues the exam. Didn't even care how much he was hurting me. Once he was done THEN they brought me pain meds and everything. Said I will be good in 15 min and nope, it maybe took the edge off. He comes back in to explain what he thinks it is and says he will know when the labs come back. Mind you, it's not busy at all so there was no need to rush. Comes back again to tell me what was wrong and how they are treating it. Gave me some other pain meds, promising it will take the pain away. NOPE. I was so fusterated, I'm not one to take pain meds but to be in a huge amount of pain and to be told twice it will get better and it doesn't, is just rude. I could go on and on but I'm still in a lot of pain and need to lay down. I will say that I will never visit this...
