Service is top notch, just not impressed by overall room experience.
I can't seem to catch a break with hotels in Texas. I chose this location due to distance and ease of access to Meow Wolf: The Real Unreal.
I can't believe the Motel 6 in rural Texas keeps coming up in my mind, this Hampton Inn & Suites is 97% more per night, and 51% more per night than Drury Inn & Suites.
I honestly don't know what people are paying extra for. The location? There's a Woodspring Suites directly across the street that is 50% cheaper per night.
I'm staying in - Room / 1 King Bed / Non-Smoking / with drinks and snacks. Check-in process was smooth / fast, there is an incidental hold of $50-$75, they give two free water bottles for Hilton Honors members. One of the elevators scares the hell out of me, anxiety inducing is an understatement. When looking directly at the elevators, it's the one on your left. It takes a long time for the doors to open, feels like it gets stuck, has a janky door opening sequence. Not comforting.
The door to my room sticks and doesn't close properly. I was told this was because it's 'recently renovated' and needs time to be broken in. No way José. You could definitely forget that the door didn't actually latch when it closes if not paying attention, that's unsafe.
The bathroom has no fan. If you have GI issues, good luck, your room is now going to be smelling like it. Take a shower? Welcome to your new sauna bathhouse subtropical climate. The janky caulking on the bottom trim tells me this was a low quality or rushed renovation.
The AC produces a cyclic hum every other time it kicks on, the grate rattles a little bit randomly, there's a water dripping noise peroidically inside it. If anyone leaves their room or enters it, you hear it, because these doors SLAM shut. The highway? You hear it if you have sensitive hearing. I stayed at a hotel in San Antonio that was closer to the highway than here and it was quieter. San Antonio you hear the train horn at 7-8am, but here at this Hampton in Trophy Club I can hear every vehicle driving by. You can hear other people's air conditioners kick on.
The bed is comfortable for a bigger guy but unfortunately it sleeps hot. The comforter has this annoying design on top that is uncomfortable, the pillows suck, they are extra soft and if you sweat or sleep hot they get hard and uncomfortable. Why are there 4 power sockets behind the TV in the corner of the room that you can't access?? The more I look at this room and hotel in-general, the more issues I discover.
I'm here on vacation and it gets a solid D minus. I see a lot of people here use this hotel for business, I can see why, close easy access to high quality food options along with meeting rooms and the appearance of luxury/quality. I can assure you that throwing money at things doesn't always equate to a better experience.
The drinks/snacks are not worth the price for an add-on, some higher HH members get it for free. Two sodas (both Dr. Pepper not cold), 2 regular candy bars, 2 tiny bags of chips. The couch is acceptable comfort, and the chair is too small for a big guy. Housekeeping does a light cleaning every other day and a full cleaning on those staying 4+ nights.
I think I'm going to decline everything, including the drinks and snacks. I'm not a huge fan of their privacy policy either, they say they respect your privacy but if they need or want into your room they will come in regardless.
There's great food options nearby, highway access is close, golfing and various other activities are close.
I'm paying more to be inconvenienced. I learned a valuable lesson about the appearance of luxury/comfort, looks can be deceiving. I don't want anything from Hampton Inn, tired of playing hotel bingo.
Lastly, they sent emails asking about the purpose of your visit, like they seemed to care, but in actuality they seem to be generic corporate posturing to maintain a perceived image from their guests. I did not get the impression they were genuine. I expect a generic corporate response.
I'm ready to...
Read more1st thing I would like to say is about how wonderful the service was that we received at the front desk when we first arrived! Madi greeted us and was such a breath of fresh air when it came to the customer service that she provided from arrival until the end of her shift. She was very knowledgeable to all the questions we asked and was able to give us some nice suggestions. She seen our fur-babies and gave them some treats also in which they truly enjoyed. She got us checked in fast which was helpful in the fact we had a lot to go do still before the stores closed. Normally when we stay at rooms it always seems inconvenient but Madi made sure that everything was smooth during check-in and we appreciated that so much becuz we was able to get everything done before we came back to our room. We remember Madi from last time we stayed here also and last time she was just as pleasant. She definitely knows her job and her friendliness definitely tells just how much she enjoys her job. . Thanks so much Madi for being such a breath of fresh air for us in our traveling journey!!! Then, as if that wasn't great enough.... The 2nd desk clerk came on named JOY. And let me say she definitely brought joy to our stay. I was just taken by her personality! WOW!!!! She was another amazing person who made sure we were taken care of 100% and also gave our fur babies a prize!!! She was sooooo super sweet. She literally knows how to give out the best hospitality, we could not of asked for better! She was very down to earth and so easy to talk to. I felt as if I had known her for years. She helped me out when I was looking for a specific drink for my husband and she took the time to go look for it in the back. She was funny and had me laughing. She made sure to let me know that if there was anything we needed for us not to hesitate in asking that she would make sure our stay was perfect. She made us feel so comfortable and at home. I am so glad that we was able to meet such an amazing person during our stay. Not only was she helpful but she also was knowledgeable too just as the first lady was. She made sure to remind me of the delicious breakfast that would be waiting on us in the morning. Gosh they both made it so easy to love this place even more!!! And besides the 2 GREAT LADIES who gave us wonderful customer service..... Rooms were very clean, neat, & organized!!! They also smelled good. They provide all your bathing hygienes and sink toiletries. This place feels about as close to home as you are going to get. We are here on business, but even if we was here on pleasure this would be the place we would choose-hands down!!! Thank You Hampton Inn and Madi and Joy for this wonderful stay and wonderful customer service that has been provided!!! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK...
Read moreI made an appointment to see about the possibilities of having a family reunion at the Hampton inn, Trophy Club ,TX. Sharon met with me and took me on a tour of rooms and facilities. I was surprised at how nice and spacious the rooms are . We looked a the private meeting room because our group would be needing a room for one large gathering. I was happily surprised that we could afford the rental rate for the room and that the hotel would provide all that we needed for having dinner catered or desert in the room. They are happy to accommodate caterers .
The lobby/breakfast area is very impressive. Finding out that a cooked breakfast was included in the price of the room was nice bonus. It is a huge area with tables and chairs that will accommodate adults and children. It is beautifully decorated . A very largeTV is also in the area. There is an absolutely gorgeous modern chandelier that just about takes your breath away.
There are many activities, restaurants and sights in the area. The hotel was happy to put me in touch with the correct sales persons for each venues. We were able to work out an agreement that would keep all of my relatives happy and I hope let the hotel make money.
The time I spent with Sharon was delightful. We laughed about the persnicketiness of family members and how the oddest events can occur without notice.....especially when you have a large number of children involved!
By the way, the hotel is only two blocks from my home. We should not have to use my house as a meeting point. That is such a plus!
Upon leaving, I notified the family. With positive responses from the entire family I notified Sharon that we "had a deal!"
We are looking forward to a very happy family reunion in June. I hope this review will be helpful to any group that may be considering the Hampton Inn, Trophy Club, Texas as a center for their...
