I’m not even a customer anymore and somehow they still manage to cause me problems. I have a utility pole in my yard. Looks like a neighbor got spectrum, look at the photo for what the tech left behind. The yellow wire was laying on the ground (cut up at the connection but left it in the ground) and the orange stuff is all new and just hanging there.
Customer service is terrible, be prepared to get a substantial rate hike at 1 year. It is getting harder to talk to them about bringing your rate down. My router went bad and they sent me to the store. It says they close at 8. They close at 6. Literally every single time I need customer service, stuff like this happens.
Edit: I had 3 technicians to my house to address badly fluctuating or bad connection speeds. The first two acknowledged something was going on but nothing got fixed. The third blamed my wireless router, he was absolutely sure my router was causing the speed issues. Well I finally found a better alternative for Spectrum. At the time of this edit, Metronet is currently running fiber optic lines throughout Troy. It has finally reached my neighborhood. I signed up immediately. So far so good. And guess what, the same router that was apparently the reason for my poor internet speeds has been cranking out near advertised speeds every time I’ve checked, even when not right next to it.
I have a dual band gig wireless router in case you want know. So far my speed tests on Meteonet are coming back very near advertised speed and doing it consistently. Update: I went back to Spectrum for a really good deal in gig internet. Immediately after switching my wife started having stability issues with her remote work calls. I waited until I could get new customer pricing with MetroNet and switched back to a “slower” speed internet (500mbps instead of the 1gig spectrum) and no more stability issues. Same router that got blamed for my issues with Spectrum is chugging along transmitting 500mbps (or really close) every time I do a speed check. Because we work from home, we wouldnt be able to afford Spectrum if it were free. It just doesn’t work here. And we...
Read more("RENO 911 Cellular") The worst mobile customer service I've ever experienced in 25 years of having a cell. I made multiple emails from multiple portals with required documents as requested with zero replies or reception... Ive made several service call appointments with repair department... They either call 1+ hour late or not at all. If the call with service that you've been on for more than hour suddenly drops...? By policy they won't call you back to continue process. You have to call back and start over with different agent. I even went a week without service because repair department wouldn't return my calls even keep my call back appointments. If I send requested documents via email...? They somehow never received them nomatter how many different ways i send the emails/documents. I never get a reply or even an answer on the phone to weather They received my information. They can determine that an email was sent to them by me on the 19th but somehow cannot see the email itself. 🤔🤥 Am I actually supposed to believe that...? 🍭 Spectrum has left me stranded without cell service by completely ignoring me and doing absolutely everything to disregard my problem. I literally had no choice but to go back to Verizon just so I can have cell service at all. SpRECTUM is a 100% 🤡🤡🤡 show. ...
Read moreThe wait time at the Troy, Ohio store is pretty long. It appears Spectrum will only staff the store at bare minimum. At the time of my visit on a Monday at 4:30PM, there were only two (2) Spectrum associates visible on the floor to assist a waiting list of ten (10) customers on their digital screen. Spectrum needs to put more associates on the floor at this clearly busy location. Every person waiting inside the lobby has equipment in their hands. Knowing that each transaction takes at least 5-10 minutes per customer, Spectrum needs to place more employees inside these newly-designed retail stores. Spectrum presents them (and staffs them) as places to “upgrade” or “buy” new cellular services, but their customers still see these locations strictly as a payment center or failed equipment swap/return locations. Spectrum needs to understand the longer their customers have to stand waiting in their lobby, the more conversations the customers have with each other about Spectrum’s services... that’s dangerous for Spectrum as everyone loves to talk about their negative experiences with the company. Spectrum should value the “get in, get out” method of taking care of customers. Nobody wants to stand here waiting for more than ten minutes, let alone...
