While I typically love to support a local business — specifically a local card/game store — I cannot share that support to a business that is trying to capitalize on the current state of Pokemon cards by selling ETBs for $130.

Update after the owner responded: I did not abruptly hang up on you, but I was as a loss for words after you shared the price for the poster collection and ETBs. I said thank you and ended the call after that.

And while I am not a regular, my son and I have been to your store before to participate in events / tournaments and to buy singles given your extensive collection. So yes, I had been calling around to the stores we’ve been to before to check inventory.

This place is a scam, offered me $15 for my whole collection of 100 Pokemon cards, pretty sure they stole one too. First thing when I walked in I waited for 10 minutes for owner to finish eating lunch or whatever he was doing, then he proceeded to take my collection in the back, came out 5 minutes later and said my most valuable card was fake and that I should sell him the whole collection because it’s not worth much. I said no and left. When I look back at it they probably stole my really good card and replaced it with a fake one. Don’t waste the bearded guys time with pokemon cards especially on a slow day. Was told by him not to waste his time going back and forth looking for cards when it was slow lmao. Maybe if the pokemon case was ever stocked up which looks like it was never touched since january. I think he expected me to buy damaged cards they bring out from back lol.
