Edit: A few hours after this post, Ray called to assist and helped with refunding unnecessary charges. Ray was amiable and honest in the way he spoke, which I greatly appreciated.
Original: I used to really like it here, but they were extremely difficult with me when I tried to stop the membership. I initially didn't realize it was an automatic monthly charge despite the name "M2M" (month to month), which fine, is on me. I then realized they charge an additional month for after you quit, which they didn't verbally specify when I signed; when I'm tired and sweating after working out, I'm not going to read every single word of the fine print.
I also have a voice recording of one of the managers saying I would not be charged the last additional month, but which I unfortunately did not get in writing. Afterwards, whenever I called, she was extremely rude and short with me, and told me everything was on the contract, implying therefore I should not call. Law actually states that if "fraud (namely, false representation of facts) has been committed" when a contract is signed, that contract is void, and voice recordings hold in court, because this was a conversation that was heard by three people in a public area, so not a private conversation.
It doesn't seem worth it to take this to court, however. I have a lot of other things to do. I'm not trying to get you in trouble at your job, I'm just trying to make this a fair contract.
They also behave as if I'm getting a deal when I sign a slightly-reduced price from their sheet of prices, which they offer right from the start every time. Adding a pic of the prices for reference; they charge an enrollment fee, which they charged me after I'd been there a year. I started out with the annual one-time payment for the year-long contract, which apparently counts as its own separate contract and negates the fact that I have been attending the gym and should not have an "enrollment" after being...
Read moreBy far one of my worst experiences I’ve had. I decided to try something completely new. I walked into the gym, wasn’t acknowledged. After five minutes of uncertainty I went to the front desk, patiently waited for the two employees to finish talking. After waiting a good five minutes, I was acknowledged, I explained why I was in the building and the female employee at the front desk said to the male employee okay I’m going to go, and GRABBED HER BAG! Not once did the other employee turn to face me, instead he kept his back towards me. In shock I began to walk to my bag. As I’m walking the female employee was getting ready to pass me, bags in hand, and said the trainer will be with you. Very frustrated I explained to the employee that I was confused, as she had walked away from me without even telling me what I needed to do. Employee stated she wasn’t even supposed to be working this afternoon, and as I explained to her I understand but the lack of communication, but most importantly poor customer service was very unacceptable. As you know, there came someone to save the day. I didn’t get the opportunity to get her name but she attempted to help me to the best of her ability. After not being able to cut the feeling of disbelief I decided to leave. I will never return, nor recommend this place to ANYONE AS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WAS UNFAIR, UNCOMFORTABLE, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY...
Read moreI am very disappointed with the way the owner handles customer services issues. Unfortunately, I could not continue attending the classes due to my injured knee, and no matter how i tried to modify the workouts, my knee was getting worst and the pain continued to increase. I explained the owner my situation and asked to cancel my membership. He requested a doctor's note and I did. Then a lady called me asking for a second doctor's note in order to cancel the membership. I provided the second doctor's note per her request. It has been (3) weeks now, and this issue has not been resolved. Now, different staff members call me and state that I need to do a "buy out" and must pay part of the membership cost in order to cancel. I am taking this issue to court since the owner does not seem to be honest and truthful. I could not believe this company dared to send me to the collection department, this is so unfair and unjust as well! They did not want to admit that they acknowledged the doctor's notes submitted per their request when I explained due to medical conditions I could not longer attend the gym. Now I found out they sent me to collections. I am willing to fight this in court and fight for my citizen rights....
