I've been shopping at Elliot Electronic supply as long as I've been in Tucson. When I go, the items I look for are usually there. Surprise!! Surprise!! It's AWESOME to find a place nowadays that doesn't say "We don't have it but we can order it." Most businesses have gone to "J.I.T." ordering. (Just in time) It is a practice that in concept where you sell the last item on the shelf another has just arrived in the receiving department. THAT ONLY WORKS IF THE SUPLIER HAS THE ITEM IN STOCK TO SHIP... Which is VERY RARE! They'll use the same exact answer when a retailer calls on a wholesaler.
Elliot also has bunches of used items like computers and stuff. Depinning connectors are sometimes a pain but they usually have what I need like the older/vintage connectors that can't be found anywhere else are often times available. Their business model should be followed by any business that wants to accelerate and maximize profits and I'm talking about using some of their profits and purchasing stock! It's refreshing to know a business that still does that. When I think about electronic supplies and tools it's the first place I check. Thank You!!!

Read moreBeen patronizing this place for 22 years. Today was my last time. Went in for some small project items, nothing expensive or special, all were on their website as "In Stock". Disappointed with the quality of several items and I walked the whole store shopping and gathering my listed items. Finally asked for an item on their website homepage, and I was told I had to go "Next Door" and buy it there. Owner seemed put out when I said I don't want to go next door to buy it, I came here, and it's on your website. No compromise or understanding, just go next door if you want it. Well Sir, I left everything at the counter and left. I can buy the items online for a bit less. I have always tried to support a local business. I'm a customer not a stock boy, not my job to run next door to find and buy an item they sell. This shell game about splitting their business into two stores feels shady. Seems they would rather I bought items elsewhere as well as they made no effort to save the sale. Sad to say, I expect they will be following the other electronics store (Initials FE). I don't buy a lot and they probably won't feel it, but they have lost a long...
Read moreNot a good source for Audiophile vacuum tubes in my experience. I ordered 3 - OA2, 3 - OB2, and 3 - OC2 VR tubes to roll in a 300B amp I have coming soon. They called & told me they only had 1 - OC2 (understandable) & I said fine, just adjust the order/refund for the 2 missing tubes, no biggie.
What I then received was 1 - OC2, 4 - OA2, and 1 - OB2, some RCA, a Sylvania and a "Conn" (life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get). All looked pretty rough, dirty & very bent pins. I have not tested them yet but at best they may test as NOS, but are definitely used, not NOS.
When I called to correct the order, I was told "you received the correct total number of tubes, so we cant refund. You need to send back tubes if you want them replaced". Considering this was their mistake, and that we're talking about tubes that are worth, at most, $9.50, I had assumed they would send out replacements for the 2 - missing OB2 tubes, and either send a return postage slip, or just say "keep the tube you didn't order". But, I guess that's not how they roll. Anyway, lesson learned. I wont bother them with my...
