Excellent experience. Joe Muse was the absolute delight of a sales associate that helped me find the furniture I was looking for.
Joe was never pushy; he is a very kind and knowledgeable man. I noticed several sales associates come up to Joe and ask him questions while he helped me; this reinforced my confidence in Joes knowledge and experience. Joe patiently explained the brand of sectional I was interested in and the customizations that I was able to change on it (fabric color, dimensions, adding/removing pieces). I learned that Joe is actually a rug specialist and a superb one at that. I had never considered buying a rug before entering the store; Joe explained how rugs really tie your whole room together. After looking at maybe 30 rugs, Joe had picked out an area rug whose colors perfectly complimented my living room decor and new sectional he sold me (it ended up being the very first rug he showed me).
Managing a retail location myself, I understand what sets apart a mediocre salesmen just there for the commission coin, and an excellent salesmen that knows their products exceptionally well and leaves a lasting good impression on the customer. I have referred Joe to all my friends should they ever need furniture in the future. There are not many salesmen out there like Joe Muse. Mathis Brothers, please ensure you take the necessary steps to keep Joe at your location. He’s a wonderful asset; it’d be remiss for customers to learn they no longer have the option to have Joe help them. I will always use Joe Muse for all my future furniture needs!
As for the furniture delivery (which was a breeze), AJ and Jojo were the two delivery men who delivered my furniture. They were ridiculously quick (in and out in 30 minutes!) and very accommodating to how I preferred every thing set up. AJ and Jojo were very professional and efficient. Read moreMy partner and I recently decided to switch from a Queen to a King size bed. Found the bed, duvet, duvet cover, pillows, everything. We even found a couple types/brands of mattresses that we could “get a deal” on online. We decided we needed to lay on a few in a store so we knew which one we wanted. Which brings us to entering Mathis Sleep Center at 71st and 169. We were greeted as soon as we walked in with hand sanitizer and temperature checks. We appreciated that. DC immediately introduced himself and asked if there was anything he could help with. We let him know we were looking for options. He went on to give us a tour of the store and let us know what we were looking at. He then allowed us to roam on our own to form our own opinions and gather questions. I valued this because I HATE when sales associates hover. DC stopped in occasionally to see if he could answer questions and was helpful in doing so. We let him know we needed to think about it and we wanted to look at a couple other places. He received that well and offered his card and willingness to help anyway he could. We pondered for a day and ultimately ended up going back to purchase from DC. Because of his expertise, knowledge and professionalism as a sales associate we ended up buying a mattress 3 times the price we had originally planned on buying. He made it clear how important it was to get what is best for YOU and your body. He, without bias, explained pros and cons of each and answered all of our questions honestly and thoroughly. All the way through the end of the purchase, he was accommodating and helpful. We are very excited for our new mattress and looking forward to it being delivered! Read moreI’ve brought a lot of stuff at Mathis but this time around was pretty bad and I couldn’t lie about it on this review. I brought a expensive bed furniture set, had them deliver and I was going to put it together. When we started the building of the bed the major screws and washers needed to build the base of the bed together were missing, one of the side beams was also unscrewed. We called and were told we would have to wait till the next day because there was no one in their warehouse. At this point i had no bed and furniture everywhere so that was not an option, they told me I could go pick another bed (really) No. I went to the hardware store to see if i could find the hardware i needed, Didn’t have anything. Waited about 4 hrs for them to finally say they had found some hardware, I had to drive to the store and pick it up, over all with the back and forth it took me and 2 other people about 9 hrs to finally get the bed together. A couple of days before delivery I had called and asked to change my delivery so that their staff would assemble it but they said they would have to change the delivery all together and it was kinda late, which is why i just left things the way they were. When I came into the store the manager was very nice and he did credit me $ 85 on the $2000 purchase. I just don’t think anyone should have to go through all of that to build a bed and they need to check and make sure everything needed to build their furniture is included in their deliveries and boxes.
