Went to the new location today around 4pm. First let me just say that my food was correct, hot, packaged well, and tasted good. The reason for only 2 stars is purely due to the customer service. The person who took our order through the speaker said “huh?” at one point while my husband was ordering, making him repeat the entire order over. Then once we got to the window, the woman took our debit card and then gave us our drink and card back without saying a single word to us. We then had to wait about 10 minutes (no exaggeration) without any warning ahead of time for our food, to once again be handed to us without saying a single word to us. I work in an industry that is heavily customer service related and know that it does not take much effort to be kind and friendly to someone. And it only takes one experience like this to make people decide they’ll never be back to that location. Whoever is managing this new location needs to do a little more customer service training with these employees.
12.22.22 Went back to this location tonight (because it was past 10:00pm and the options were slim). I asked my husband to ask what was on the bbq chicken strip sandwich. The girl on the intercom says “I honestly don’t know”. So I ask her if she can ask please. Just that right there was ridiculous. Zero initiative. Zero care at all about her job. Zero care for her level of customer service. Then she asks if I want it with the Texas toast that it’s advertised with or if I would rather have a bun. I never would have even known there was a choice but since she offered me the choice I told her I would like a bun. The sandwich I was given was on Texas toast. Why on earth would you give me the option and then give me the option I DID NOT CHOOSE. Honestly it all comes back to management. This location is not managed well, the employees have zero customer service skills. Go...
Read moreI usually have a decent, not great, experience at a Whataburger. Today with no other cars in the drive thru I was pulled forward for two biscuits and one side of gravy for over ten minutes while multiple other cars left which after waiting nearly 10 minutes I was then late for work. I knocked on the side door and called to the front cashier (super sweet) who came over and called over who I believe is likely a shift lead (name of Denasia (spelling)) (I assume this position not to be degrading, but because she has not yet developed the skills required to be a upper store leader who then immediately told me to exit the building when I told her nicely I just needed a refund really fast or the food because I was now late for work and even work at a restaurant and I had to be there to let them inside the building. (I understand this is a safety policy likely but empathy should be shown, especially when the guest is being friendly) in a professional restaurant leadership position one usually displays empathy and concern but even after I did immediately go back to my car she then came out again and yelled for my receipt which I then told her I did not have (but they scanned my app) so then minutes later she brings me back my cash and I told her I’d see her later with the coupons corporate will inevitably send me. Quite frankly I’ll use them and frequent them again when I go back to my home state of Texas but this is wonderful coaching moment for a team member that is in the wrong position. The store manager needs to follow through and set his or her team up with the tools to give the to the confidence to deal with regular guest interactions that occur daily (especially when they are friendly...
Read moreWhataburger's food never disappoints which is why I continue to eat there. But this location, for whatever reason, is the slowest location I've been to and I know many others will agree. No matter if I'm in the drive through, go inside or order ahead on the app, I'm always waiting longer than expected. Yesterday I ordered on the app because I knew I'd be waiting 20+ minutes otherwise and I was still left waiting at the front for my order when I got there. When I drove up, there was maybe 3-4 cars in the drive through, and only 1 couple inside already eating. I arrived 8 minutes after my order was supposed to be finished and was greeted politely. The gentleman even asked how much ice I wanted in my drinks, which I appreciate because everyone knows restaurants pile ice into their cups, and you get less of you're actual drink. Besides that, I was stuck waiting inside for 10 minutes before actually receiving my food. I understand a longer wait time if you eat during peak hours, or if a location is low on staff for the day, but I've never had an experience with this location where I'm out in less than 10 minutes of pulling up. I've probably ordered from this location at different times of the day a dozen times or so, since its opened and can in fact say I've been deterred from ordering here more simply because of the wait time. This store is in a prime location (71st & U.S. 169) with tons of other competitors, and I feel is missing out on the opportunity to serve more people and make a lot more money. No hate to the staff, but hopefully someone from corporate comes down to train the staff to work more efficiently and...
