It was OK. Lot's of shade so that was nice. Not a great variety of trees or flora. Signage was weak. Backs up to a highly developed area so you're not exactly in the country. You take the same narrow road in that you take out. Can be problematic if you have a large vehicle and have opposing traffic. I would be careful with pets and young children because of the poison ivy/oak. Consider wearing pants not shorts.

I thought I'd been to all the best spots in Tuscaloosa when it comes to parks... This place truly felt magical. It felt peaceful and safe even hiking through trails. Lived here a long time and never heard of this place till I just looked at a map and decided why not. Spent 2 hours having an adventure and still could've done more. Please do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Recent infrastructure improvements are making a big difference. New entrance signage and new chairs and seating in the pavilion are a great upgrade. Trails need better signage and could be linked to longer walls they the old golf course. Beautiful Magnolias

My family and I went in April 2018. This was our first time going. You can park on the black top parking lot or go down the gravel dirt road to get to the Aboretum. We chose to park in the parking lot as the gravel road is small. When we got there everyone that worked there was very sweet and helped us find our way. There are maps of the trails available close to the “main” pavilion. The 6 and 10 year olds favorite thing was the tree top platform. We loved every minute of...

Beautiful hiking trails, some of which lead to some enchanting areas, like; A cute little treehouse lookout, a small forest amphitheatre, and one trail ends in a wide-open field with a beautiful garden area, (which, has a pretty sundial centerpiece exhibit). University of Alabama Arboretum is also free for the public to visit, All Year'Round! And, that means, that you can make it an everyday, scenic nature escape... Even when you're...
