UPDATE It has been a month since I got my hair cut here. My hair is now growing inwards towards my face. After receiving a very rude response from the owner, I will definitely not be coming back here. I think the fact that the owner went through all of my previous reviews just to judge me on them instead of solely relying on the review I left for them says everything about this company. I can't explain well enough how unwanted I felt here. Would NOT recommend.
I don't see how this place has so many good reviews. My experience here was horrible. I made my appointment online and as soon as I walked in I was met with a glare from the lady at the front and she said "how can i help you" in a snooty tone. I could tell the instant I walked in there that I didn't fit in with them - they were all extremely preppy girls who wore a pound of makeup. I told her I had an appointment and the lady standing next to the one in the huge hat nicely handed me clipboard and asked me to fill it out (the ONLY nice lady there, she had short blond hair). I filled it out and then sat down to wait, the girl with the hat literally greeted EVERYONE else that walked in with a smile and asked if they would like a haircut today - COMPLETELY different from how I was greeted. My hairstylists, Kayla, came up and she seemed nice at first but when I showed her the photo of the hair cut I wanted she scrunched up her face. I had seen on her Instagram that she did hair like the one I wanted a lot, so I knew she could do it. I informed her that it had been 3 years since my last haircut and that's why my hair was so frizzy and not healthy looking (it was all the way down to my butt and I was very annoyed at having it that long, so this is why I wanted a haircut). I told her I wanted it shoulder length or SLIGHTLY above my shoulders. She then proceeded to cut my hair after brushing it out, she didn't wash it or anything. She said it was just the initial cut to get a lot of the hair off. This initial cut was shoulder length. She then straightened my hair and just cut it straight across the back and very unevenly cut in the front and then said she was done. The whole thing took about 15 minutes. I could tell she was trying to rush and get me out of the chair. I tried talking to her but she would only respond with one word answers and cut the conversation short. She ended up not being nice at all. The blond photo is the photo I wanted, the photo of me is the haircut I received. As you can see it slightly goes up in the front - that's because she cut it so uneven. The length looks great when it's straightened, right? The thing about that is I have very wavy hair - something she OBVIOUSLY saw, she even made a comment about it. So, of course, when I washed my hair the waviness came back and now my hair is barely below my chin. Definitely shorter than what I wanted. Because of this I will not be going back. I was not treated like a valued customer because it was obvious I didn't fit in with that crowd. The people were rude and I was rushed through a haircut and because of that I didn't receive anything even close to the haircut I wanted. I got my hair cut here last week but because I've been busy moving I haven't been able to make a comment until now. The ONLY thing I'm happy about is that I don't have hair going down to my butt anymore, and that it cost $25 instead of the $45 like it normally is at every salon I've been too - but it wasn't even worth the $25 in my opinion. I would have rather spent $45 and got the haircut I wanted then save $20 and get something I'm very unhappy with. Highly disappointed in this place with all the good reviews. Believe the bad reviews people, they are the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHEADMASTERS SAVED THE DAY!! It was a Saturday morning, I had taken my daughter to a beauty salon where we had previously made an appointment for my daughter to get he hair done for a photo session later that day. It didn't turn out so good, in my opinion it wasn't that bad but she hated it, it was nothing like the picture that we had showed the lady of how she wanted it; so needless to say she was panicking, crying, throwing a tantrum because we still needed to go get her make up done and her eyes were obviously red and puffy from all the crying and I was getting worried that it was going to ruin her pictures. So I'm driving around trying to find a hair salon, any place, didn't really matter which one. We had an emergency and we were running out of time so we didn't have the luxury to be picky. I told her I would stop at the first one we could find. So I was driving on the loop, passed the mall and we still didn't see anything so I told her that I was going to turn on Kinsey Dr so we could turn around and go to the mall or maybe south broadway. As I turned on Kinsey we saw the big HEADMASTERS sign so I stop. By then she is still crying and she is too embarrassed to even get out of the car so I went in to ask if the took walk-ins. First of all the receptionist was so friendly and welcomed me with a big smile! Just that smiled alone made me feel better because even thought I'm was trying to keep my cool, my child was driving me crazy!! I mean I was trying to be patient and understanding but come on.... Lol! So after she said they did take walk-ins I took out my phone to show her the picture of the hairdo that my daughter wanted in the first place and asked if anyone there could do it, I explained that my daughter was still in the car and still had the hairdo that went wrong... š¤¦š»āāļø So she took my phone and went to ask some girls if any of them could do it... as they are talking I could see they are analyzing the picture and the three girls she was talking to kept nodding their heads and looking at me with a smile. So the nice girl comes back and gives me the great news, they can fix it! So I went to the car to fetch my daughter who still crying (yup, and crying hard-this is a teenager btw. She is turning 15 in a few weeks) because she thinks she looks like an old lady š¤·š»āāļø So anyways I gave her the news and she magically stops crying. We went in.... Let me tell you, the girl that fixed my daughters hair (so sorry can't remember her name) took longer taking all the hair clips off and brushing all the hair spray off than the actual new hairdo. So, just wanted to tell you guys that I fully recommend HEADMASTERS. It's locally family owned and operated, I saw the owner working on a haircut and her husband sweeping the hair off the floor! I support local business %100, but also they all were super nice! They not only did a great job; my daughter loved her hair, but they were very polite, they all had a big smile, treated us great and they worked pretty fast! We made it on time to her make-up appt. then a few days later they called me back to ask about our experience with their service!! I am totally going back there in a few days! This time I'm going to pampered myself with a new haircut! THANK YOU...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would like to start off saying that this place is designed nicely and the staff are friendly Cambree sister is an absolute sweetheart and has such a good attitude all the time. With that being said the staff not only canāt seem to figure out how to cut hair correctly or die hair but they constantly have to ask Cambree how to be a stylist yet most of the stylist are level 2, 3 or higher it amazes me that they charge astronomical prices for sub par stylist. If that wasnāt bad enough Cambree specifically will constantly cancel booked appointments and services and book her favorite clients that pay her more in place of yours, she has done this to me 6 times now even when there booked 2-3 weeks out and confirmed by text. Further more they state itās a first come first serve basis but when you schedule a cut same day right when they open and they say see you at your time slot Cambree goes behind the person scheduling the appointments and cancels yours just because one of her favorite clients ask for her to squeeze them in and then tells the front desk person to call the person just canceled and give them to another client or schedule on another day that doesnāt work for you as the client. And says well we texted them first and even though you called and scheduled that time and confirmed it first were giving priority to the person that did not respond first just because cambree can make more money off of them. I would not recommend this salon to anyone unless you have deep pockets and like to constantly get canceled and inconvenienced every time you book an appointment at least with cambree specifically. Even my wife stopped going to headmasters because Alex messed up her color 2 times in a row and raised prices on her twice when she started with Alex when she was an apprentice at the old location. This salon needs to have an owner that either comes daily and stays with the Buisness through out the day and makes sure things like this donāt constantly happen or she needs to hire a Salon Manager that isnāt family related that can be non biest and run her Buisness with integrity, respect and honesty. Right now Cambree is destroying the Buisness her mother worked extremely hard to build all because she doesnāt respect the clients of...
