I didn't see my post from earlier maybe it got removed am posting again. This is directly from the Aztec website "Welcome to AZTEC URBAN MX, where tradition meets modernity in a vibrant dining experience. Our restaurant blends rich cultural heritage with a contemporary atmosphere, creating the perfect space for gatherings, celebrations, and everyday enjoyment. With a passion for authenticity and a commitment to quality, we bring bold flavors and fresh ingredients to every plate. Whether you're looking for a lively night out or a cozy meal with loved ones, AZTEC URBAN MX offers a warm and inviting ambiance that makes every visit special" THIS IS SO NOT TRUE, WE WENT TODAY SATURDAY MAY 31 TO THE TYLER LOCATION FOR A PREPLANNED LARGE GROUP LUNCH AT 1PM. NOW AZTEC SAYS THEY CAN HANDLE A LARGE PARTY. THEY CANNOT. 2 HOURS LATER PEOPLE WERE STILL WAITING FOR THEIR FOOD! FOOD WAS BEING BROUGHT OUT COLD, TICKETS WERE GETTING MIXED UP. THEY ONLY ASSIGNED 1 WAITRESS FOR 40-45 PEOPLE AND WHEN THINGS STARTED TO GO BADLY THE MANAGER TOOK THAT POOR GIRL INTO THE KITCHEN HOLLERED AT HER, MADE HER CRY 15 MINUTES LATER SHE WALKED OUT IN TEARS. THE WHOLE SETUP WAS FLAWED FROM THE BEGINNING WITH ONLY 1 WAITRESS ASSIGNED THEY KNEW A LARGE CROWD WAS COMING, WHY WASNT A PARED DOWN MENU OFFERED TO EXPEDITE THINGS FOR THE CUSTOMERS AND KITCHEN STAFF. THE REFILLS OF DRINKS WERE SLOW IN COMING, WE HAD TO BUS OR OUR OWN TABLES AFTER THE APPETIZERS TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE ENTREES SOME THAT NEVER CAME, WE STACKED PLATES, BOWLS, GLASSES ON THE BAR. AT LEAST 5 PEOPLE GROM THE PARTY TALKED TO THE MANAGER WHILE PEOPLE WAITED FOR THEIR FOOD REALIZING THERE WAS A PROBLEM. WE WANTED TO BE FAIR AND OFFERED TO PAY 1/2 PF THE TICKETS AND HABE THE GRATUITY WAIVED, BUT AFTER LISTENING TO THE COMPLAINTS THE MANAGER VOIDED OR ATE ALL THE TICKETS FOR THE PARTY APPROX $700.00 IF I WAS THE OWNER OF THIS PLACE THAT POOR WAITRESS WOULDN'T BE THE ONLY ONE LOOKING FOR A JOB HINT HINT THE MANAGER NEEDS TO GO TOO. PLEASE DO GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! WE DONT EVEN WANT TO TRY AGAIN AS A COUPLE WITHOUT THE LARGE PARTY. CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT'S 45 PEOPLE WHOSE BUSINESS THIS NEE RESTAURANT HAS LOST NOT TO MENTION THESE PEOPLE WILL POST NEGATIVE THINGS AND TELL OTHER FRIENDS AND FAMILY NOT TO GO HERE. BAD BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will say this though Johnny the Bartender was great, we started at the bar ordered a drink each and our appetizer to allow the big party to get settled and get their drinks and appetizers ordered. Then we cashed out at the bar and went to join the party, we just ordered desert and that was mediocre, but again Johnny at the bar was the highlight...

I was driving around town and then it hit me. AZTEC URBAN MX!!! I flipped the car around and made my way over.

I’ll start by saying that my experience was a 9 out of 10 and I don’t even feel like that’s an exaggeration at all. From the incredible service provided by my waitress Nicole (RIP you beautiful soul), to the delicious food. I can’t think of 1 single negative thing to say about my visit.

I sat down at my table and was quickly approached by the manager. I’m so bad with names. He informed me that they were short staffed today. Not even a minute later, Nicole arrived at my table and took my drink order. She also recommended their queso and I’m so glad I listened. Some fresh chips and salsa were brought out a minute later. I believe there was also some type of black bean dip as well. The chips were nice and warm and the salsa was really good. I even enjoyed the bean dip.

The waitress stopped by again to take my food order. I honestly knew what I wanted before I even walked in the door. I saw a review by someone else the other day and I noticed the word chimicurri in the same sentence as the words skirt steak. That’s all I needed to see lol. I ended up ordering the Steak Argentino. I asked for medium rare.

The queso arrived shortly after and it was honestly liquid gold in the best way possible. It was a bit on the thin side, but I’m not even saying that as a complaint. I poured some of the queso and the salsa on some chips and devoured them. Don’t judge me.

My food arrived in no time. I immediately noticed the presentation and just knew I was in for a treat. The steak itself was a perfect medium rare (pictured below) and the chimichurri was sent from the heavens. The meat was incredibly tender. It came with rice and beans and some corn tortillas. I ended up mixing the rice and beans together on a tortilla, followed by a piece of steak, some queso, and some salsa😍. The rice and beans were so good by themselves as well.

Seeing as I was so pleased with everything, I decided to order some dessert and of course I had to try the tres leche, seeing as it’s probably my favorite dessert ever (when made right). It was indeed made right haha. It was super moist, not soggy. The whipped cream topping was sooooo good and the sprinkles were a nice touch.

For all that, I give it a 10 out of 10. Go try them and see what you think. I’m hoping y’all’s experience will be as amazing as mine. Their...

We were pretty excited to try this out. We are lovers of Mexican food but also pretty picky. Based on the reviews we thought it would be worth it to try some place new! We decided to go on a Thursday night so maybe it wouldn’t be super crowded and we wouldn’t have to wait long. The first thing I noticed is there is definitely NOT enough parking. We had to park over at The Diner and walk over. Not once space available over by the restaurant. The second thing is there is literally no place to wait, if there is a wait, which there was. One small bench inside. Lots of people just standing around in a small area. They do not give you a buzzer nor do they take your number so you can at least go wait in your car (if you’re lucky enough to park close!) so you were pretty much forced to stay right in that little area. Thirdly, it didn’t appear to be incredibly busy (lots of empty tables) but we waited around 30+ minutes for a table for two. It could have been lack of staff so we were patient. Fourth. It literally sounded like a club from the waiting area. They were dropping the beat a little hard and loud for a Thursday lol. It was hard to have a conversation so just know that going in. So the food. The food was ok. The complimentary hot sauce they give you is definitely sub par. There is no taste let alone no “hot” to it. My husband who can’t handle hot sauce at some places even said that it lacked heat. It was like eating tomato sauce. We ordered the street tacos and they were good. Typical tacos with beans and rice. Our server was Claudia and she made the trip worth it. Super sweet and attentive. The prices seemed a little higher than we were used to paying for this type of food/drinks and what you get anywhere else in town. I’m down to pay for good food but there wasn’t much that set it apart. I’m not sure that we will go back. We may give it some time and try again but for better food and prices I would rather travel downtown and...

Tried for the first time. I really liked the black bean dip served with the chips. The hot sauce and chips were pretty decent also. I chose the Quesabirria tacos for my lunch. They were alright, but entirely toooo juicy. The outsides got sloppy and soggy before I was finished because of how juicy the meat was. When the cook brought out the "platter" he spilled the consume sauce several times. He complained how difficult it was to carry that out and not spill it. I have a suggestion, don't fill the cup up as full next time?? I didn't really need any of it anyways, the tacos were so juicy. Also the cheese was flavorful but definitely different and not as good as a few other popular spots in the area. I do like how it was "plated". More fun than other restaurants with a banana leaf on top of a wooden platter. The slices of lime given was not generous. There were 2 for 3 tacos and very small. There was a "rice castle" offered on the plates, but I didn't try it. Not a fan of having my rice served in a "cup shape". The waiter did say he wasn't sure about the quesabirria tacos but recommended the fajitas. He was an ok server, but took forever between trips to my table, especially to take my order after i asked for a minute to review the menu, and the place was far from swamped. The price was a little steep at 23$ for my lunch not counting tip, and I drank water. I will definitely be back to give it another try as it is a new place and has a HUGE menu. I did like the music and Vibe of the restaurant. Definitely is something different than other places in the area.

The food my date got was sooo good. We honestly should have shared it because it was SO much food. His food came in a stone mortar looking thing and was boiling hot for the whole dinner. It was delicious but it was really really hot. I was craving nachos and it was a big mistake because they dont have good nachos. They were brought out flat and soggy and they didn't dress them with anything. The meat was also weird in texture. The cocktail menu would probably be the Highlight of the dinner. So many extravagant and unique decorations and flavors for each cocktail. I wish I had tried them but they were almost $20 each. There was one with a rubber duck and they had a cotton candy machine for some suspended cocktail with cotton candy. So fun but the bartender was also kind of rude. He seemed occupied with other things even though the restaurant was empty which I don't doubt he was. But when I ordered my drink I also told him what I wanted for my entree and he just walked away. He didn't take my dates order or ask any further questions. He talked to some of the other guests for a long time. Eventually my date just ordered for us like 15 minutes later.
