Went to self checkout, the attendant asked me to show my Costco card so I did. Then I scanned in all my items and another attendant came over to tell me she was going to finish scanning my items. I told her that was fine, even though I didnāt ask her to do that. Then I went to pay with two cards for a split payment. She told me after scanning everything that I couldnāt do split payment at self checkout. She said she would print me out a receipt and I would have to go to the regular checkout line and give my receipt to the cashier to pay. She said they wouldnāt need to take anything out of the cart. I said ok, and my mom and I made the line again for a regular checkout with the cashier. The next cashier was another employee who had no idea what was going on even though I explained right away that everything was scanned and I was carrying the receipt to pay for everything with two different cards. He was short, bald and middle aged. He was extremely rude in his confusion asking me to prove my membership with my card. I patiently showed him the card, and he barked at my mom and me that he had to remove everything from the cart to count my items again. He yelled that I shouldnāt have done self checkout bc itās complicated for him. Then he saw my mom and said she canāt use her card. He was extremely rude, red in the face and rushing us. I donāt appreciate the lack of customer service and bullying from these unorganized employees, especially towards my elderly mom. Very bad communication and direction by the store. What a mess and I didnāt appreciate the tone he had with my mom. I told him, āThis is too much.ā I canceled my order and will gladly spend my time and money somewhere else who has a decent respect towards the customer. I would have appreciated the heads up that split payment isnāt allowed in self checkout before scanning a whole cart of groceries. Iāll never stand for a man disrespecting our elders, especially my mom. I expect good customer service if Iām about to spend $400. Iāll never be back to this chaotic, rude location with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm a student at PNWU here in Yakima. Everyday I'm using my laptop for the majority of the day (usually 8 hours at least). I purchased my laptop online from Costco over a year ago because they had the best prices and they extended the manufacturer warranty by an entire year for free. Just a few days ago, my laptop's touchpad stopped working. I exhausted every possible resource at my disposal (including my school's IT dept. and a brother who works in the tech industry) to no avail. I tried calling Costco Concierge service and their warranty replacement service, but unfortunately for me (and them!) they are located in the path of Hurricane Irma and were closed for safety reasons. At a loss, I called the local Costco in Yakima and was eventually connected with Joel, who I was told is a store manager. I told him my story and he quickly and graciously told me he would help me out due to the extraneous circumstances. He accepted my laptop as a "return" (over a year past the purchase date!) and gave me in-store credit. I immediately purchased another laptop from the store, which happened to also be the best price I could find anywhere, and I was happily on my way home to continue studying with my new laptop. Thank you Joel for you understanding and for your excellent customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCostco is Amazing (Costco shoppers? I'm on the fence!) I love Costco. Pretty much everything they sell has been curated to the point that you don't even need to think twice about it. They've checked it out and it's good stuff for a good price. If it doesn't sell very well and you like it, you better snap it up quick because they'll dump it. It's really tough to beat the prices at Costco. They also carry things that you can't find anywhere else even close to that price! And when they put it in the coupon book, it's even more unbelievable. Living in rural America, we'd probably starve without Costco and it's worth the 150 mile round-trip to Costco. This Union Gap Costco has wonderful staff. They are all amazing. Shopping here isn't always fun, however. Weekends, oh man. Be prepared. Rules of the road people: drive your cart on the right, pull over if you're going to stop. Find ANYWHERE else but the middle of the aisle to chit-chat with your friends. This place is a madhouse. Frustrating and congested, it's still worth the effort. Costco, please build another warehouse in the PNW. How about The Dalles? It's not a big city, but I-84 goes right through it and people from 5 counties would shop there....
