I’ve been taking my three girls here since 1997 and it is still a great park for the kiddies. Now we bring our granddaughter here and it’s the same nostalgic atmosphere. First and foremost I feel super safe comfortable that this park is situated right near the police station which is a few steps away. That doesn’t mean the parents should not watch their children but it makes me feel safer knowing that if there any issues, there is help near. It has nice seatings for the adults. Should have more seatings inside but there are benches outside of the playground as well. I like that this park has a basketball court, public pool next to the playground and an outdoor theater along with a pavilion. It is nicely maintained. The playground has many activities to entertain them for awhile. Although during busy season in the summer it’s hectic and can be overwhelming keeping an eye out for your child. Overall all my kids have enjoyed it and now my granddaughter feels the same. We love it. Apologies I have no pictures. I couldn’t take any pics without having a child walk through my camera view. I also don’t want to post any pics of...
Read moreThis park is fantastic. Leathers Park-Sci Playground is fenced in and is a made up of two separate play areas, one for kids 5 and under and one for kids 5 to 12 years old. The playground for older children is in the form of a Castle. There are swings of all kinds available. In the way of sports facilities the park has 5 Tennis Courts, 4 Pickleball Courts, 2 Basketball Courts, Exercise Course and in summer Pool Complex with Concession Building. The park has bathrooms near the playground and port-o-potties near the Picnic pavilion. There is a gazebo and amphitheater and plenty of parking is several locations around the park. There are two trails in the park: Parkside trail is 1/2 mile long and travels along the front of the complex by the pavilion, basketball courts and tennis courts and the Woodlands Trail which is 1/2 mile and is located in the rear of the complex and winds through a peaceful natural area and has in its center a sensory garden. Off the back of this park you can access the Green...
Read moreThe park is wonderful and great location. I am a tennis player and this park has great tennis outdoor facility with new pickleball court addition. However, as much as the tennis court gets used through spring to fall, I feel that Upper Gwynedd township should get funding to resurface the tennis courts. They seem to have taken shortcut sealing cracks with tape and paint over it. It’s not going to last and makes court less favorable play on because when ball hits those areas where they seal with tape, even new balls don’t bounce. It’s terrible! If they redo the surface correctly, park place will be the best park hands down in this area. Again, it’s popular hangout for family and community. Let’s not cut corners on maintaining tennis courts. Love the fact have lights on tennis courts, it’s just bright enough not overwhelming. Please REDO tennis courts, there’s a huge tennis community uses the courts and well worth it…...
