To start, I have a toxic reaction to Cilantro. I investigate any hispanic-food style places because I love that style of food! I just often can't eat out because of my allergy.
However, this place is not only safe but also has tasty food. *Some of their food *does contain cilantro, but there is a selection that is cilantro free.
They obviously specialize in Empanadas, but also offer additional, though short, dessert selection (flans). Bottle water and sodas are available as well.
The portions may seem small (I've had some fairly large empanadas in the past), but they are filling! I purchased the 3 for 10 deal, and to be frank, I think it was too much for my stomach!! :)
I got the coffee flan as well, against my diet requirements ;) and was amazed!
Food: 10/10 - I highly recommend it.
More notes: There is outdoor seating, as of today (Oct 24 2024). There is an indoor window bar space to sit, but it is small.
The space is set up for a quick buy or quick bite. However, there are steps. There is no ramp. This is just how the location is built.
The road does get a bit of large truck and semi-truck traffic, and the street is pretty busy - so it's not quiet at all. There is some on-street parking, just be careful.
Location: 5/10 due to accessibility issues.
Vegans/Vegetarians: They are baked with a coating of oil (canola/olive). But the dough is made with butter.
The cheese in some of them is an animal product.
I saw 3 possible vegetarian- adjacent options: Vegetable Empanada ( has Cilantro). Spinach & Artichoke (Cilantro free). Roasted Poblano (?) The Italian...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the new empanadas restaurant in town, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was simply excellent, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to make our dining experience memorable. The staff was not only attentive but also incredibly personable, making us feel like welcomed guests throughout the entire evening. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations for various fillings were spot-on, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal.
One of the highlights of this restaurant is the extensive variety of empanada fillings available. Whether you're a meat lover, a vegetarian, or have specific dietary preferences, there is something for everyone. From classic flavors like beef and cheese to more adventurous options like spinach and spicy chicken, the range of choices was impressive. Each empanada was crafted with care and skill, with a perfectly crisp exterior and a deliciously flavorful filling. The combination of the outstanding service, personable staff, and the incredible variety of fillings make this empanadas restaurant a true gem in the culinary landscape. I can't wait to return and try more of their...
Read moreFinding authentic Spanish food has been a struggle since moving to this area. Coming from a city environment, empanadas were a staple—practically on every corner. So when we stumbled across this place with glowing reviews, we were thrilled to give it a shot, especially for a gathering with a sizable order. Expectations were high.
First warning sign? The price. At nearly $4 per empanada after tax, I raised an eyebrow but brushed it off, assuming these were "gourmet" caliber. Pickup was smooth—impressive packaging, neat organization, and each empanada stamped with the restaurant’s logo and flavor. Presentation? Top-notch. I’ll give them that.
Then came the taste—or lack thereof. These were, hands down, the blandest empanadas I’ve ever encountered. The filling had no seasoning, no soul. Generic dough wrapped around flavorless meat—it was a culinary letdown of epic proportions. I cringed serving them to my guests, humiliated by the need to drown them in sauce just to make them palatable.
Two stars, purely for the packaging, presentation, and decent sauce. The empanadas themselves? A solid 0/10. I won’t be back. This area...
