We wanted this place to be good. It was disappointing in pretty much every way. Although we had a reservation, we waited above 10 minutes to be acknowledged by the wait staff. To be fair, it was right at the end of their early dinner rush, but most of the wait was caused by the fact that there is no host or hostess, and patrons are required to pay at the register diner style. Once seated, we waited about another 10 minutes to be offered beverages or apps. We put in an order for guacamole and two margaritas. The guacamole took some time , but I suspect that it is made fresh to order, and ultimately was quite good. The margaritas did not come for about half hour, and had clearly been sitting on the service bar for quite some time. The margs are not recommended. They are served in a fishbowl glass and were watery (sitting on the bar) and made with what tasted like the cheapest store bought service mix. Expensive at $15 for what they serve. The entree took about 45 minutes, and unfortunately, had the consistency and temperature of having been forgotten on the kitchen window. Mine was ok as served, but my wife’s had a cheese sauce topping which was luke warm and congealed. In general, the food was really nothing special. The portions, however are huge.
By and large the waitstaff is friendly, but harried. The place is understaffed for a Friday night and the absence of a host or hostess to handle the seating and checks created a back-up at the register/front desk. Other people waited a very long time to pay. As is common, you have to swipe or tap your card yourself, but the mechanism is turned toward the staff, so you can’t see what you are doing. The wait staff does not appear to be assigned in zones, so each server was covering tables all throughout the restaurant which detracted from quality of service. Unfortunately, the tables were often left dirty. Most of the service problems could be solved by having a host/hostess, one or two more servers, and the servers assigned in more contiguous zones.

Read moreHad a reservation for 5 people at 7pm. Walked in at 6:50pm and waited for about 20 minutes while being completely ignored by everyone at the front desk. After being seated around 7:20pm, not one person came to our table until 8pm. We had to go up to the front desk again to mention that no one had helped us. When we finally had someone come up to our table, they didn’t ask if we needed water (since the air conditioner clearly wasn’t working) or anything, just took our order and ran away. We didn’t receive water or enough silverware for the table the whole time we ate here. We waited about another 40 minutes for our food, which was good for some of our group, but two of our orders were inaccurate. Due to the wait time, we didn’t even bother to ask them to fix the order. When we finally got the check, which we asked for right when we got the food due to the wait times, it was inaccurate and did not reflect their first day promotion that they advertised. We are still waiting for boxes for our orders after another 30 minutes of waiting. One of the boxes they gave us was dirty so we had to wait for another. Now, I understand that today was opening day and I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because I really wanted to like it here, but the service and attitude that we were given really left a bad impression on us. I totally understand the service industry and the pressure that can come with opening a new place, but it was not busy when we came and we still unfortunately had a bad experience with the service overall. Even if some parts were slow, no one checked on us to even update us and make sure we were okay. Unfortunately, I do not think we will be coming back even though we really wanted to enjoy it and have it become a new spot for...
Read moreThese guys are successful restauranteurs down in Norristown, and Mexican is one of my very favorite cuisines, so when they opened in our humble little North Wales borough, I knew I would try them very soon. I often enjoy shrimp cocktail or campechana— I was pleased these guys really made it their own with additional flavor, and some real unique grilling treatment to the prawns around the edge of the glass— deep & smokey . Positively delicious. Wife got the tacos birrias— also a very good recipe— mozzarella surprise!— and excellent consommé. They have taken their decor extremely seriously so the ambience is fun. The music might be a bit loud for dinner conversation. Carolyn was pleasant, attentive, and kept everything squared away. We had a tidy, perfectly packaged, thoroughly enjoyable first experience here— in and out in an hour on an evening we had other things to get done. We look forward to telling others, and...
