If I could give 6 stars, I would. My partner and I made the choice to travel to Philly to do our 99th and 100th escape rooms because of how many positive things we had heard about Expedition, and it exceeded our expectations in every part of our experience. We did Blind Tiger Speakeasy and Lucky Dice Diner back-to-back, and both of them immediately landed among our all-time favorite rooms. Both rooms were incredibly well-designed, and the puzzles were layered and scaffolded beautifully. Not to mention how creative the puzzles were! We had a few moments while solving the rooms where we could not help but admire the creativity that went into designing some really unique puzzles we had never seen before. To have two rooms with such consistently high quality at the same location spoke volumes about the level of care and thought that goes into room design at Expedition. As a whole, our time spent solving the rooms was a blast!
The amazing quality of the rooms aside, our interactions with the folks who work at Expedition set it apart. The game guides (we had Josiah - who was awesome!!) are enthusiastic and clearly value customer service. They also take time at the end of each room to walk you through the puzzle flow, which we really appreciated. And from the moment we walked in the door, Marisa and Skylar, the owners, were incredibly kind and generous with their time. They chatted with us at length about our experience with escape rooms, shared about Expedition, and they even added a few elements to our 100th room to make it extra special (including a lovely handwritten note signed by their whole staff, and a laser-engraved keychain to commemorate the occasion!). I cannot say enough about how positive our experience was at Expedition Escape. Everything about our time there validated the choice we made to celebrate the milestone of our 100th room there. We even signed up to come back and do a third room later that same day, and we will undoubtedly make the trip to come...
Read moreWe had a mixed experience here. We would recommend the hour long escape rooms, but not the half hour long rooms unless you're looking for a beginner experience.
We initially signed up for the Baker Street escape room, and had a genuinely excellent experience from the room, to the staff to the puzzles. Really enjoyed the Baker Street room.
In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we decided to do another room that evening immediately! We asked what rooms were available and the Santa's Holiday Hat Hunt worked best for our schedule, though it was only a 30 minute room instead of an hour room (though it was also half the price). We explicitly asked what the difficulty of the room was, as we were concerned that as a holiday-themed room it would not be challenging, and we were told that all of the escape rooms were of intermediate difficulty.
Unfortunately, though the Santa's room was well themed, well laid out, and well maintained, it was clearly aimed to be kid-friendly. It was extremely linear, had clear markers of which clues went to which puzzles, and was far too easy. We ended up finishing the entire room in less than 15 minutes, and were very disappointed.
It's worth noting that the escape room was not bad, and the staff that helped us was excellent. But we felt tricked by coming out of a difficult escape room that was fun and challenging, and being told this room was of similar difficulty when it was essentially a beginner room appropriate...

recently had the opportunity to try out an escape room with a group of friends and it was such a fun and exciting experience. From the moment we entered the room, the atmosphere was immersive and intriguing. The room was beautifully designed with intricate details and clever puzzles.
The game master was extremely friendly and helpful. They explained the rules and set the tone for the adventure we were about to embark on. They made sure to give us a good balance of clues and hints, ensuring that we were challenged but not overwhelmed.
The puzzles themselves were challenging and required us to think outside the box. We had to work together as a team, utilizing each other's strengths and skills to solve the riddles and unlock the clues. It was a great bonding experience and really brought us closer together.
One of the things I loved about the escape room was the sense of urgency and excitement it created. We were constantly on our toes, racing against the clock to solve the puzzles and escape the room. The adrenaline rush was thrilling and made the experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, the escape room was a fantastic experience. It provided a unique and engaging form of entertainment that was both mentally stimulating and incredibly fun. I would highly recommend trying out an escape room to anyone looking for a memorable and exciting activity to do with...
