Our group managed to escape the Casino themed room with a little over 9 minutes to spare. Our GM, Denise (or Denice? I'm not sure how she spells it :X Sorry!) was incredibly helpful and gave us good instructions and lots of fun facts about the room after we got out! It was my (and 2 others) first time doing an escape room and we overall had a pretty good time! I had more fun finding hidden things and abstract puzzles, but my friends were better at the math/logic portions. Other than one puzzle that required a little nudge in the right direction, everything was very easy to follow the logic of. The room had a little wear and tear (probably from other groups not following instructions and trying to remove static pieces) but everything was functional and it did not detract from the experience. I think we'll probably be going back for the Wild West themed one next!
One more thing to note, I never felt in any danger or unsafe during this one. The door was unlocked and the "escape" was just for show, we could leave to use the restroom if needed, and were allowed to keep our phones on us to use as flashlights and calculators provided we didn't take videos or pictures of the experience, so as not to spoil it for other potential players. That might not matter to others, but it put me at ease as a first-timer.
Thanks...
Read moreBreakout games has become one of the most fun date nights or game nights to do with my significant other or friends. Your game master is also super friendly and helpful and overall be ready for a challenging room, yet a fun experience as your game master will help you throughout the room. If you're as stubborn as myself and my boyfriend you may not get out of your room as our first experience was with The Island Escape (one of the hardest ones if you are first doing an escape room there). Otherwise, we did the casino escape room not too long ago and was able to escape. The casino took some math skills, but was an interesting and fun room to do. Today we did Hostage which requires you to be blindfolded and lead into the room, but as soon as the beeps go off, you're able to take your blindfold off and begin trying to get the (not tight!) handcuffs off (it only took about two minutes to get the handcuff offs). Aaron was our game master who was super helpful the entire time! I wouldn't recommend Hostage as a first game as it was rather difficult and a dark room with only a lamp, but honestly if you're up for the challenge and perhaps have more than one person escaping with you, you'll be able to do any of the rooms! We broke out at 49:25 out of the hour. 5 stars every single time we go!...
Read more6 of us drove from Story & Marion county, to celebrate me starting law school. We reserved the "bomb squad " room. Which was so small, that there was barely any room for us to move around. There were 7 or 8 combo locks. None of the "directions" you get are clear, nor do they let you know what lock the clue goes to. So you have to try all of them. That takes up most of the time you have.....The clues are all papers with baffling instructions (that are hard to read in a dark room with 1 dim flashlight) it took almost 40 min to figure out what lock the 1st set of clues went to. When we asked for help they spent more time asking us what we figured out than they did helping us get to the next step. We spent $150 and 2 hours of driving for the experience of getting frustrated and pissed. How fun can it be trying to unlock a bunch of locks? Because that was literally what the entire room was. We've all been to other escape rooms that actually engaged your puzzle solving abilities, had clear and defined paths to get you to the next step, and were fun. This place does none of that! I will not be returning! We were all so upset that it was not the fun celebration experience we had envisioned, that we called off dinner & just went home. If I never see another combo lock, it will...
