I’ve taken things here multiple times, and today is a prime example of how they will either low ball you or downright rip you off. For a good example, I’ll reference a previous drop off. I dropped off a brand new lululemon short trench jacket. Regular retail price $248. They offered me $60 for this brand new with the price tag still on it. 70% off of $248 is $75 so this would put it $15 BELOW the retail pricing they claim to make offers at. Today, was the worst of all, however. I brought in two lululemon coats. One of which was brand new and the other VERY gently used. They offered me a grand total of $50, and yes that was for both items total. So, they offered me $25 a piece. Mind you the brand new coat retailed at $348, and the gently used one retailed at $398. Let’s do the math here, 70% off $348 is $104.40, and 70% off $398 is $119.40. Since I used the max percentage this is the lowest amount that should’ve been offered, and they offered me $25 for each of these. I’d like to point out that from other people’s reviews that they were given “item age” and that they “don’t purchase gear over 1 year old,” as an excuse for the low ball offer they received. Now, a week or two before I took in lululemon items all brand new, between 1-3 years old, some tagged, and some untagged. I walked out with $219. So, what was the core difference between all of these experiences? It clearly wasn’t the age of the items, but it was definitely the age of the employees. The younger the employees, the SEVERELY lower of an offer you will get. The day I walked out with $219 it was all young adults working. 18-21. The time I got offered the $60 for a brand new, tagged $248 lululemon trench, that group wasn’t a day over 17. Today, the oldest person in the shop looked like they were probably 16. It’s pretty clear that they have no set standard to measure offers by. They just offer whatever they want, and the younger the employees are the lower those offers get because realistically they have no idea of the actual value of the item. I declined the offer today and the young lady, who looked like she was all of 15 years old looked appalled that I said no. Not surprising, that a 15 year old would think $50 for two coats that are really $400 a piece was a great offer.
Update After the manager followed up on my review I was able to go back, and get an appropriate offer last year. BUT HERE I AM A WHOLE YEAR LATER, AND HAVING THE SAME EXPERIENCE! I wasted 2 hours today waiting for them to review the items I brought in. All lululemon products. 1 coat -retailed at $298, 1 puffer vest -retailed at $268, and 1 skirt- retailed at $78. They offered me $68 TOTAL FOR ALL 3 ITEMS. If you read the manager Chelsea’s reply to the incident I had last year with the same nonsense, you’ll be able to calculate based on the percentages she gave that NOTHING about the offer I received today was mathematically correct. And sure I may receive another manager follow up after this asking me to bring them back in so they can fix it. Should I really have to leave a negative review in order for me to receive an offer in alignment with their policies every time I go to sell though??? It’s unprofessional, and a huge inconvenience as a customer. Perhaps, they should test their employees math skills before...
Read moreYea I won’t be back I was followed around the store. As though i would steal a skirt. I’m there on my lunch break wearing my company apparel and was profiled as a thief. I consider this really unacceptable don’t really recommend going. I personally won’t be back.
Updated to elaborate I can sure follow up. However I first want to follow up on the general tone of this response while I appreciate the quick response it’s coming across very rude and it seem like you believe I am accusing your team unjustly. I visited this store around 12 PM Ish today on my lunch break wearing company apparel. I was browsing, looking for a blazer as I needed something to wear for an upcoming event. When I first walked into the store, I spoke with the clerk and asked her if they had blazer to be honest she was short as well . As I was unable to find what I was initially looking for, I decided to wander around the store to just window shopping I found a skirt. I asked the lady to try it on I did. Once I found that one skirt, I wanted to see if I could find something to match. I continued to browse around the store. At this point, I noticed that every time I looked up, there was young lady was coming very close to me every single time the clearance area, the skirt area. She was honestly making me uncomfortable with how close she was getting as I was browsing just looking. I kept the skirt in sight at all times and never even went into my purse, which was a small bag. I don’t steal and definitely would not be foolish enough to do something like that wearing my company apparel. Quite frankly, I’m disappointed with this entire interaction, which is why I’ve made the post and I won’t be back. I do hope you take this feedback to your clerks for a little bit of training around...
Read moreThis is not the first time something off has happened to me here which is why i refuse to even come an HOUR before closing since it seems the girls behavior is sour towards customers at that time.
I was shopping and had gone into the fitting room to try on a few items. While I was placing items away there, one of the employees came by and checked the room—I’m not sure what she was looking for, but there were still clothes in there and even my personal bag. It was clear the room was still in use. Without saying a word, she just slammed the door shut on me. I had to ask her to open it again, and when she turned around, she gave me a glare before opening it back up like I was an inconvenience. I thought a fitting room was meant to be used and i was only trying to help them by making sure all my unwanted items were organized and not falling off their hangers. I don’t know but It felt extremely rude and unnecessary.
When I was finally ready to check out, the vibe didn’t get any better. I kept getting looks from the staff like I was doing something wrong just by being there. And the whole time, it felt like they were trying to rush me out the door—even though it wasn’t even closing time. It honestly made me feel super uncomfortable and unwelcome.
If you’re going to treat customers like the store is closed, maybe turn the open sign off. Because as a paying customer, I expect at least a basic level of courtesy—not to be rushed out and treated...
