The best place to take the littles to learn and play! We always have an amazing time when we visit the Vancouver Play Street in Salmon Creek. It is our favorite indoor play place because of…
The Amazing Owner/Staff: The owner, Sara, is the kindest human, who genuinely cares about her customers and takes the time to get to know them by name. She is usually the one to greet you, as she is extremely dedicated to her business. On the days she isn’t there, her staff are just as amazing at keeping the place welcoming, organized and clean.
It’s a Great Place to Learn: The different theme each month makes it easy to learn while we play. The toys are constantly being rotated out to match the new themes with safe options for my 1 year old to play with and more challenging toys for my almost 4 year old. It’s also super neat that they have a live bearded dragon named Poppy as a store pet. Be sure to ask if she’s been fed yet in case you are able to see her get some crickets. You can also just ask if she can come out to get some pets, as she is very gentle and friendly and happy to meet curious kiddos.
Bonus Crafts & Activities: I highly recommend the $4 activity bags they sell to add on to birthday gifts or to keep the kids busy for a few hours while you make dinner. Their bigger sensory kits are also worth the money for long car rides or plane trips. We haven’t done their pottery painting or dip dye yet, but we will!
The Location: Super convenient shopping center with Chipotle, Jersey Mikes and Trader Joe’s nearby. They are also going to open up an IHOP and an 85C Bakery soon! The Three Creeks Library is also very close, so you can spend a whole morning in that area with the highlight being Playstreet.
The Price: If you purchase the 5 visit play pass, each visit comes out to only $14 per kiddo (kids under 1 are free). This is cheaper than the play place by the mall and much closer to us that live on this side of Vancouver, closer to I-5.
We love supporting our local mom, Sara, and this super neat place she was able to bring to us here...
Read moreThis is a fantastic place for preschoolers, especially! My grandson and I had a wonderful time. There is a wide variety of things to do and toys to play with. My grandson spent most of his time at the airport pretend station. He LOVED pulling the wheeled suitcases around and loading them in and out of the airplane. In addition to the airport station, other pretend stations include an ice cream truck, a vet or pet shop station with a LIVE bearded dragon, a multi-room playhouse with lots of toys and props, a large Duplo Lego train station, and a big science area with lots of different items to investigate. I know that there are other things I'm forgetting here, too! I was especially impressed with their selection of wooden Unit Blocks, just like we used to have in Kindergarten! (Retired K teacher here!) I would suggest that they clear out just a bit more room for kids to build with those blocks, though. Also, the little carpet next to the blocks needs to be flatter in order for the children to build something that has to balance. :) All in all, as a retired teacher with 35 years of teaching pre-K through second grade, I give this place five BIG...
Read moreI brought my 4-year-old to Play Street Museum for the second time today. Our first visit was on New Year’s Day, when I brought both my son and my niece. There was a reasonable number of children, and they had an absolute blast.
However, today (Sunday, February 16th) was a completely different experience. I booked our visit online, and the booking system gives the impression that attendance is limited—which makes sense given the small space. On our first visit, there were two employees and around 15 kids, making for a manageable and enjoyable experience.
Today, however, there is only one staff member and well over 30 kids. It is absolute chaos. Older children are pushing the little ones around, and no one is regulating the play. The space feels overcrowded and unstructured. Had this been my first visit, I wouldn’t have returned. Unfortunately, based on today’s experience, I don’t think...
