I want to lead in with a strong warning to call and verify your reservation if booking online. They will say your room is booked and give a confirmation number but that does not mean you actually are in their system. Their online booking does not tie into their systems at the hotel. They have to manually go through emails and put the reservations into their booking system. That being said I would also highly recommend taking your money elsewhere and not staying with this hotel at all.
Words can not fully express how piss poor this hotel experience has been.
The staff - This hotel seems to almost exclusively hire warm bodies and nothing more. None of them are trained up to snuff and have to slowly fumble through their systems to get you checked in and constantly check cheat sheets they have hidden behind their desk to accomplish anything. If you have any issues of any sort they will not be able to help you. They will say sorry, do nothing to right the wrong, and send you on your way. There is only one exception. A very nice young lady working the desk at night that actually got up, went out of her way to help and went above and beyond trying to find solutions to our problems.
The parking - This hotel doesn't have a big enough parking lot to support half of the room they have available for guests to stay in. The closest parking lots to the hotel all have explicit no parking tow away signs. Not a big surprise. One can only guess that the neighboring businesses got tired of this hotel's incompetence and starting towing cars.
The cleanliness - I normally don't expect much when going into a hotel as far as cleanliness but this hotel takes it to another level. Every piece of furniture had something disgusting on it. The shower curtain was dirty and covered in stains. The AC unit in the room had built up thick gross grime in the vents. Everything smelled like an old man that had been a smoker his entire life. The only clean part of the hotel is the front lobby which is probably only that way to trick customers when checking in.
The shower - The shower curtain was putrid, the shower head was almost entirely stopped up with hard water deposits, and the curved shower rod was mounted so far in that the curtain will constantly be touching you, and last but not least the water pressure was disappointing.
The TV - They do actually have a lot of channels which was awesome but the TV is roughly a 24" screen with speakers so bad that they will make your ears bleed.
The Breakfast - The website is misleading about the free breakfast in the morning and what is made available to the guests. It is a bunch of cheap prepackaged food bought in bulk from Costco. I would like to add as an extra note that we were informed at check in that the breakfast during the weekend had extended hours. When we went to get food on the second day of our stay (Sunday) only to find the door shut and locked. When I asked the staff member he told me I was misinformed about the hours of the breakfast and that it was done. He was hiding back in the office during this entire exchange, didn't come out to talk to me about, didn't offer any solution, didn't care about the mistake, gave me a shoulder shrug and sent me on my way.
I will not ever be staying here again. This hotel brings nothing but SHAME to the Red Lion name. If any of the members of the Red Lion are reading this don't even bother trying to list one of those generic "sorry for the inconvenience" and "the staff is always striving to make things right" responses. You are liars, cheats,...
Read moreWhere to begin with? Oh, the begining. When I make hotel reservations, I'm old school, I call the front desk of whatever particular places I stay. I called to make one night reservation for after a concert at the nearby amphitheater. A week or so later, I call to add one more night for a total of 2 nights. Saturday and Sunday 08/30-32/25. Upon arrival we were early so went for lunch. When asked about the pool and hot tub that is advertised, I was told that there is no hot tub, and the pool you reserve an hour at a time for exclusive use. Upon check in the clerk said I had reservations for just Saturday, one night. I explained that I called and made a second night, which with a few keyboard clicks, she found. She explained the 24 hours coffee, and carry out breakfast bags was what their contental breakfast consisted of. I paid for the 2 nights, plus a 100 dollar deposit for "incidentals". We check in, went to our concert, returned to our card keys not allowing us into the second story door to the main building. I went to the front desk, had the keys fixed, then retired for the evening. The next morning Sunday, we skipped the bag breakfast went out, did some things around the area and returned determined to reserve the pool. When reserving the pool, the same clerk at check in explained that she checked us out, as we were only reserved for one night. But remembers me now from yesterday and can fix the mistake. She informed me that she sent a refund to my card, and to run it again for the second night. Meanwhile an older guy is interrupting her saying if we missed breakfast, there is still some bags, then he brings out pastries and a menu, telling us this is available ag any time. The clerk shushes him, said let's take care of this first. Which was running my card for a second night, that I had already paid for. She asked if I had and app, I asked for Red Lion?, No. She say, no, you're bank, see if the refund is there. So I check, no refund, just the charge for the 2 nights. She then tells that refunds take 3 to 5 days. I then asked for a printed recipet of my stay, that shows a refund. She provided it. I then told her we will be out of the room, and if my refund isn't in my bank with in s week, I will be contacting her. Upon going up stairs, I was thinking the card keys aren't going to work if checked out , but they did. Yet not the night before after a fun night. When leaving, at the top of the stairs I noticed several mouth pieces to cigars, and ashes stuffed inside the rock siding to the building. What? Wait, when I checked in the clerk said no smoking on this property anywhere, even said there's camera everywhere. One more thing I just remember. When entering on Saturday there was a plastic bag of towels that appeared to be from housekeeping. It was still there upon leaving today! Lastly I took the card key to the clerk, who was having a phone conversation, from what I caught was aboutmy situation. She started to say something, I cut her off by saying that I wasn't starting here...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVED our stay here. We stayed here for 9 nights with my best friend and 15 month old son. We have been going through a rough time and my momexperiences at the extended stay America off of mill plain. First off, major props to Braden, our maintenance man. Super professional employee and he is definitely underpaid. He has a lot of potential to grow with this company, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a manger one day. He was our first friend we made here, anything we needed, from fixing the TV, cleaning the filter on the sink, he even tried to help fix my sons toy, and even had the knowledge to help me connect our PS4 to the internet, he changed the seat to our toilet, like wow this guy can do it all!!! Very professional but personable and he even would exchange our towels! How awesome!! And then there was Nicole at the front desk and she is a sweetheart and very understanding and always there to help and save the day. Thank you for getting us a great deal for that one extra night we needed Nicole !!!! And then Tanner, a new hire, very helpful and kind and on many occasions listened while I rambled about my tornado of a life lol. and also has potential to grow with the Red Lion . And then Ashley at the front desk, super sweet lady!!! Very understanding and super helpful and very relatable and she thought my son was soooo cute ( he totally Is though lol) . And then there was Tonya and Lisa is house keeping and they were so amazing too. They let me use the vacuum and broom myself because I would've felt bad if they had to move all my sons toys and our clothes around To vacuum and let us borrow the broom and dust pan because honestly I just like to do that myself. Haha. And then I dont know her name, but she is probably about 5 ft 4in with dark hair who works at night and twice now we have broken something glass in the middle of the night and she has brought us a broom and a band aid and neosporin. Super sweet lady. The room was clean, nice wide open kitchen for the king sized suite. Pool and jacuzzi and steam room AND a sauna?!?! It was such a nice mini vacation. We live in town but we were waiting on an apartment. And we move in today! Yay! The ONLY critique I have is, get the house keepers a better vacuum!!!!! I would say that vacuum sucked, but it really didn't. Like WOW that was a work out! And I didnt even move the couch. I think it would be s good investment to get a better vacuum because 2 days after I vacuumed I went to the ER ( not just because of the vacuum, ) and I was diagnosed with sciatica. So the vacuum was one of the factors that strained my back so bad that I had to go to the hospital. The beds are better than most hotel/motels for the price. But since I have back problems...you know. Lol thanks for the wonderful stay everyone!!!! Much love, and thank you all...
