We went to both a birthday party and the “creative jam” event at the Learning Garage and both were so cool! The birthday party was Star Wars themed and the kids got to create and decorate their own lightsabers. The owner said they make custom crafts for any birthday theme which I haven’t seen anywhere else. When we left my son asked if he could have his birthday party there, too. During the “creative jam” they have both structured and “free choice creative play/art” activities for all ages. Theres a soft toy baby/toddler friendly area, and multiple stations with different art mediums and crafts. When we were there there was a “shadow puppet” set up where the kids could cut out shapes with black and transparent colored paper and glue them to popsicle sticks and it actually made colorful shadows! There was also a station where the kids could pick different materials to make sculptures and when they were ready they could bring to the counter for an employee to hot glue together and then they could paint or decorate. To add, there was also lots of educational toys like magnetiles and mechanical sets with gears. They also have actual art/tinkering classes separated by age but we haven’t tried those yet. I did see some of the examples of activities for those though and one was a handmade card that lights up when you open it. Adults are also welcome and encouraged to make art so I got to do some painting and enjoy the free coffee while my son moved from station to station. Also there’s a resident bearded dragon in a tank!! So fun for the kids. 10/10 experience both times we went and I honestly highly recommend it. I’ve never been anywhere like it. Looking forward to...
Read moreWe originally enrolled our son in one of The Learning Garage’s summer camps this summer (Amusement Parks) and he enjoyed it so much that he asked to go back again. So we enrolled him again at the end of the summer (Power Up). He came home with multiple completed projects every single day (like: a dinosaur music box; decorated paper lantern; solar-powered windmill; a castle made of cones, paper cylinders and colored marshmallows; a race track with little cars; and so much more). He got to explore so many different mediums (painting, drawing, building 3-D structures, mixed media…) during the week-long camps and the teachers were great with all of the kids. The owner/teacher, Mia, is so kind, too!
Since he enjoyed it so much, we happily bought a 10-punch pass to try out the hour-long classes. He’s been enjoying the storytelling (the kids create their own picture book over several weeks) and architecture (he got to use a 3D pen to make an Eiffel Tower!) classes that Mia recently introduced. At pick up time, it’s so fun to see all the amazing artwork that all of the kids made during the class.
We would definitely recommend checking out The Learning Garage’s classes as an afternoon enrichment class for any kid that enjoys doing art. We’re hoping Mia brings back the summer camps...
Read moreThe Learning Garage is an absolute gem for kids who love art and creativity! My children always look forward to their time here, especially the Creative Jam Sessions (Open Studio experiences). The variety of craft supplies and materials available is incredible—it’s like a treasure trove of inspiration for little artists. From paints and markers to unique tools and textures, there’s always something new for them to explore.
The atmosphere is so welcoming and encouraging, and the instructors—Mia, Sophia, and Irene (apologies if I got any names wrong!)—are simply amazing. They are not only talented but also so patient and kind with the kids, making sure everyone feels included and supported in their artistic adventures.
I love how the studio fosters both structured and freeform creativity, allowing kids to express themselves while also learning new skills. It’s clear that a lot of thought and passion goes into weekly activity. I couldn’t recommend The Learning Garage enough for any family looking to nurture their children’s...
