Beautiful area and predominantly nice people, I am lucky to live so close to it.
Sledding hill & free ice rink in winter ❄️and turns into a sand volleyball court & basketball court in summer ☀️
Plenty of pavilions that are available to be used. You can pay if you want parties there. Not cheap though... But worth it.
You're allowed to go fishing 🐟 🎣, be out on the water ⛵ (no swimming allowed though), and other random activities.
The lakeside path is great for biking 🚲, hoverboarding, rollerblading 🛼, etc. They try to keep it in good condition.
I think the outdoor gym 🏋️ is cool too (located near the fishing bridge on north end of path).
The small zipline nearby has always been my fave to show to friends. You sit on it or can stand (for those brave people).
The community garden 🌺 is fun to see and is expanding further. I need to pay to be apart of it, but idk. It may be worth it.
It is quite a community feeling and I've been living here since 2012 and prefer to stay if I can continue to afford it. If you want to live in Vernon Hills, I'd do it sooner than later, since the prices 💵 keep going up due to city expansion. Mundelein is the best bang for your buck, if you want to live near Vernon Hills.
PS: Avoid the stores on the northeast side of Rt 60 & Milwaukee Rd. 👎Melody Farms... It is only the place to go if you want to be spending a lot more than you need to be... 🤑 👍Kuma's Corner is worth it ❤️ 👎(👍)*Lazy Dog isn't (except for the TV dinners) ❓Shake Shack I've heard is good, but I don't have $ to be wasting to find out. 👍Portillos has never failed me before... Haha thanks for reading....

Read moreLove this park!!! I think only locals know this place, as the entrances aren’t on the big road and it is surrounded by apartment/condo/housing complex. This park has almost everything! It has a baseball field, basketball court, volleyball, fishing pier, kids playground, small kids’ zip line, big hills for sledding in winter, small outdoor exercise gym, picnic pavilion, and the view around the walking path is so serene and peaceful. It’s has 2 paths (maybe more), one short and one long. Both respectively circle along small and big ponds with lots of trees, small gazebos, benches and greens surrounding it. Its a pet friendly park too, so you can take your dogs and just enjoy the amenities it has to offer. So when you’re in the mood for having a relaxing day with nature close by, visit this park and you won’t be...
