Very upset. It’s 11:20 on a Saturday and I decided to get Kong dog tonight as basically no fast food restaurants are open past 9-10 in Vernonhills and Kong dog is a great place to go after those hours. The thing is I walk up to to door, music playing and chairs still on the floor but the door is locked. So I decided to call to see what’s going on. A guy answered and I asked if they were open and he told me that they are closed. I told him I thought you guys are open to 12:00 AM on Saturday. He asked if I was outside and I told him I just tried to open the door. He was going to let me in to get food but then made up the excuse that their cook just went home and was sick but then said that they are closed because they’re cleaning up. I think it’s very ridiculous that it’s 40 mins til they actually close at 12:00 and that they’re making excuses to closing earlier. Even if they are “cleaning” right now. I’ve worked in fast food and you clean AFTER you close which would be after 12:00 not close at 11:00 so they can clean to leave at 12:00. If that’s the case then change your hours to close at 11:00 not 12:00. And on top of this I’ve eaten here two times so far and both times they have messed up my order. 1st time they messed up I Ordered BBQ Wings but they messed up and gave me Buffalo sauce on my wings when I told the lady 3 times I wanted Barbecue sauce. The 2nd time I ordered food for me and my Girlfriend and they forgot her wings entirely. Both times I ended up waiting a total of 45 mins just for my food to be remade. Im very upset about there service and now I’m going home hungry as there’s nothing else I can eat as everything is closed...
Read moreIf you like corndogs, this is the place to go! The very best Korean Street fare corndogs you will ever have! Batter is super thick and tasty . Choose the way you want your dog, and if you're not a hotdog fan, you can have a sausage, a plant-based hotdog, or even a mozzarella cheese stick instead of the hotdog . My favorite is the potato dog, but my daughter loves the Hot Cheetos or the Ramen. They also have a great selection of lemonades and bobas, and probably the best chicken wings you'll have anywhere in the area, believe it or not! Everything is very filling. The corndogs are huge and probably enough for me, but it is very hard for me not order a side of fries as they are thick cut, and super crispy. While you would think the food would be very greasy as it's all deep fried, it is not greasy at all. The only thing I've had there that was disappointing was a battered chicken sandwich. It was new on their menu my last visit, so maybe they just haven't perfected it at this location yet, but anyhow I prefer a Popeyes chicken sandwich over everyone's, lol! Go and try a Kong Dog, you will not be...
Read moreThis place is delightful! I'm excited to have Korean street food here in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. The original corn dog was very tasty, and I can't wait to try all of the other flavors. I highly recommend Combination C so that you get to enjoy both the gooey cheese and beef hot dog. The food is very reasonably priced, and it is the perfect solution for a quick lunch/dinner that doesn't break the bank. The bubble tea is very delicious as well!
The only problem I have with Kong Dog is the screens all over the wall playing TikToks and news reels of people talking about/eating corn dogs on a loop. I don't mind the K-Pop videos/music at all, but the ubiquitous videos of other people eating around me is not comforting at all. Everything else about the atmosphere is very nice though. I like the dim lighting, fake candles, and decals around the building. I wish that Kong Dog would remove the excess of screens so that I can enjoy a dine-in (not just to-go) meal here with my friends without these reels/clips antagonizing me. Management -- I hope that you will be able to take this into...
