My favorite park in Orange County- if you want to have a fun family day or if you are a single person like myself and just want to go hike or rent a bike ride a horse , bring a lunch or just bbq there you can do anything there . This is the big park and once in after paying an entrance fee of $5.00 or $7.00 on holidays - you can go explore the park that is beautiful with so many big eucalyptus trees everywhere. There is always lots of parking if you go during the week but weekends and holidays get crowded so go early. There is the wonderful train everyone can ride for a fee that takes you around a pretty lake where you can rent big peddle boats . There are bike rentals which we did as well , we had 4 adults and 2 kids so we rented the largest bike - PS - if you go online and sign up your email - you can get discount coupons for $10.00 off the bike rental and buy one get one free to the zoo - mind you it’s only $2.00 entry fee -and get other great coupons . - $2.00 is nothing to support the most beautiful new Big Cat 🐈 addition they just opened - It Is STUNNING - it is a MUST SEE for all animal lovers . The Zoo is wonderful , we are so blessed to have this in our back yard - it isn’t that small it has reptiles and a small petting zoo - but the Big Cats are the best - this zoo takes a lot of injured animals that otherwise would not survive - so please come support this zoo - The zoo also has special events for young children through out the month so check their Calendar. Children 2 are free . Now for the rest of the park - the bike rental is for 1 hour and there are lots of bathrooms and bbq’s for you to enjoy or bring your own. There are 2 snack bars as well so just go and plan on spending a good part...

Read moreWhat an amazing park! Irvine Regional has to one of the premier parks in the Orange / LA County area. There are several kids play areas spread out through the park so there is plenty of room for them to play. Picnic areas are also spread out with many BBQs available to use. You can also bring bounce houses to the park for a great birthday experience.
There are also plenty of things to do in the park. You can visit the zoo that has a petting zoo and tons of native animals found throughout the Southern California area. Be sure to keep an eye out for the roaming peacocks throughout the park.
Make sure you plan time for a train ride! The train takes you on a ten minute ride on a small section of the park. The kids will love it!
Visit the boat house for some food and toy rentals. They rent all sorts of fun things to do as a family. There are single bikes if you forget yours at home. Or rent a four wheel bike for the whole family to enjoy together. There are also water trikes you can rent to ride around on the lake.
If none of that sounds fun take a hike... on one of the many trails that run throughout the park. Just remember there is wildlife that roams the park and surrounding land. Mountain Lions are native to the area and while they don’t normally attack humans they can. Keep a watchful eye out!
Also be sure to come to the park during the Halloween / Christmas / Easter seasons. There is a pumpkin patch set up for the kids for much of September and all through October. The train dresses up for Christmas and they have an Easter egg...
