CJ Coffee House — Restaurant in Orange

Food was fresh and satisfying after a morning out with the kids. Coffee was enjoyable. However, when I ordered at 12:08 p.m., I was told that breakfast was no longer being served, even though their menu said breakfast was served until 1:00. Their only "kids menu" item was a breakfast dish, and the kids option was a big part of the reason I came, so it was disappointing for that option to be eliminated with no explanation. The lunch menu is pretty much just sandwiches, which are good, but my 2-year-old has a hard time with them. I was meeting up with a friend who had already ordered, so I wasn't able to skip out and go someplace else, which left me in a bit of a bind with my son's lunch. As I was waiting for my food, I also saw the staff inform other customers around 12:15 that the kitchen was closed (again, menu states breakfast is available until 1:00). I wish that either 1) their menu and online info would be updated to reflect these new hours if that's what was going on, or 2) they'd give their customers the courtesy of an explanation, apology, or something to indicate that this was abnormal and they're sorry for the inconvenience. Showed up at 140pm on a Saturday to a cute youngish blonde counter person who seems somewhat annoyed to take my order. The menu looked to be pretty extensive but recognizing that they were closing in 20 minutes I placed a simple order for an acai bowl and a water. $14.50 seemed a bit excessive for my order but I have to say the food quality was excellent. Generally speaking I’ve enjoyed the coffee and the food here. There was one instance where CJs credit card machine wasn’t working and she sort of acted like I should be willing to figure it out for her and that put me off. Especially as I’d spent quite a bit of money in there. But overall it’s worthy of the rating it has. And also one of the best non-Starbucks Frappuccino’s nearby. I wouldn’t go out of my...
