I visited this little gem-of-a-museum today (08/01/2020) and was delightfully surprised! It is small in space but full of excellent displays and information without feeling crowded or disorganized. This museum houses information, artifacts, and displays related to Vinita and early life there, the Cherokees of the area, the two railroads that pass through the town, and the Grand River Dam project, among other things. I was there about 1.5 hours and was able to see everything as well as read as much of the historical information as I wanted to... quite a bit. I was totally captivated by this museum! It is currently free admission although donations are appreciated. I have paid admission fees much higher than my donation at more popular places and gotten much less for my money at those places. Stopped in with my dad and had the place to ourselves, so we didn't feel rushed and had ample time to really check everything out. The gentleman there was able to help with any questions but wasn't pushy and didn't hover. He was able to share some great information in addition to the displays. We both really enjoyed doing in and learned more than we expected. There are a wide variety of displays and interests covered, so at least a little something...
