I tried going to Top Golf in Alexandria once on a Friday night to play mini-golf but encountered a two-hour wait period. However, when I came to Jefferson District Park on a Friday night, it was luckily devoid of people. There wasn't anyone to rush me or wait for me and I didn't have to wait for folks ahead of me to finish playing a hole. Plus, their parking lot is huge!
The course is kept pretty well for being fairly cheap price-wise. Only $7 per adult. I think there's no need to have what I think is dyed blue water as a stream on the last few holes, but overall I think the green is kept in good condition. None of the holes are particularly challenging but for a golf amateur like myself, it's not bad and it's geared more towards beginners. Nonetheless it's fun. I went through all the holes fairly quickly, about 45 minutes.
They accept credit cards but they don't have a machine to run the cards though, so I'd recommend bringing cash to speed up...

Staff inside wasn’t very pleasant. We are somewhat new to golf and we were getting a cart. He asked if we had driven a cart on that course before and when I said no, the employee literally rolled his eyes and sighed. My teenage son said to me later, “That guy was really rude to you.”
Hopefully it was a one off because we’ve been there before and the other people were nice enough - although it’s evident that they don’t like people who aren’t super knowledgeable about the sport. Which is kinda funny given it’s a very average public course, so if that’s not where to learn, I don’t...
