Something is very wrong with the price transparency here.
I’ve been coming here for maybe the last 5 years but recently, Huqqa Lounge seems to be either inconsistently charging mandatory gratuity or they’re not being clear about when it’s being charged.
I came here on a Sat afternoon. I ordered one pot of green tea and a bottle of water. As I was paying, the server charged me $18 on one of those portable POS systems. I asked her if that included gratuity (because it doesn’t give any details on the screen) and she gave a confusing answer about the tip being optional.
I thought a pot of tea and water being $18 pre-tip was high AND in a visit a month ago, the server then told me it did include gratuity so I just had to confirm it did today too and assumed it did. As soon as I selected $0 on the “optional” tip, she frowned and asked why I didn’t tip. I explained what I wrote above and she said “no, the tip is not included.”
I asked her how much a pot of tea was then if that was a pre-tip amount and she replied “$16”.
…$16 for a pot of green tea? What? That is either insanity or the server was wrong about it not including a service charge/mandatory tip/whatever restaurants are calling it nowadays.
I wrote this all out because I’ve always enjoyed coming here and getting hookah and food with friends for years but that interaction left a horrible taste in my mouth and I won’t be returning. My advice would be to ask for an itemized receipt if you do go here and for the love of god don’t get a $16 pot...
Read moreI usually visit this place with my friends. Their menu offered a diverse Mediterranean selection of mouthwatering dishes. I opted for their signature dish, the "Mix Grill," a delectable medley of flavors that left me utterly satisfied. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring a hearty meal.
What impressed me most was the exceptional service provided by the staff. The waitstaff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and happy to accommodate any special dietary requests. The restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction was evident in every interaction.
As for the desserts, they were simply divine. I couldn't resist trying their renowned "Baghlava". The perfect balance of sweetness and texture made it an absolute treat of dry fruits.
Although the restaurant was quite busy during peak hours, the noise level remained manageable, allowing for easy conversation among diners. Moreover, the hygiene standards were top-notch, and the entire establishment exuded cleanliness.
One minor improvement could be the speed of service during busy hours, as the wait times for the main course were slightly longer than expected. However, the delightful flavors made up for the short wait.
In conclusion, Delicious Delights is a restaurant worth visiting for its delectable cuisine, charming ambiance, and exceptional service. I look forward to returning soon to savor more of their...
Read moreCan't recommend going here for the iftar buffet. Ended up costing $160+ for 3 people and 3 waters.
I've been to several different places for their iftar buffet dinner. Huqqa lound being on the higher end of the spectrum for cost. While not providing anything additional to justify the cost.
The least they could do is provide some water so people can break their fast. Especially when they are already charging over $50/person for regular food. They even charge for tea at the end of your meal. No water, just 10¢ bottles sold for a premium.
Service was good. The workers were very hospitable and helpful. Environment was clean and spacious, with great decor. The owner and his family were also very kind.
The buffet food served was only ground beef based main dishes and a hotdog with potato/corn dish. No other meats were present, kind of like a buffet on a budget, but with a high cost. Salad choices were plenty, as well as dips and sauces but no real original turkish main courses.
My reduction of stars comes mainly out of the fact that they couldn't provide simple drinks for an already expensive iftar, and the food was not as premium as the cost.
I would definitely come here to hang out with some friends and have a hookah, but not for an iftar dinner...
