I am very upset to have to write this review, but feel that it is warranted. We have been sending our dog Teddy to Doggie Paradise for over a year. He is a larger hound mix and we sent him there to get out his energy. Teddy loves going. When he gets through the front door he runs right to the workers because he is so excited. While at DP he has experienced the typical cuts and scrapes, along with an eye injury and kennel cough. All which we handled without question.
I felt that we had a nice relationship with the workers at DP. There was one incident back in March and the owner Anita was very nice and helped with it. Since then, the staff has changed over tremendously and in the past few weeks our dog according to DP has become " aggressive". Doggie Paradise boasts live cameras- which we often watch but they are unable to provide us any video footage of 2 incidents with our dog. When I picked up my dog last week I was told he could no longer return unless he goes to training. When asking questions, they really couldn't be answered by the owner. I was the one prompting the questions and all she kept saying was yes, yes, yes. I was not called during the day to say there was an incident.
I wrote an email requesting video footage of these incidents and it took a week for a response and I was then told ( via email) my dog bit the owner. She never told me that in person when I picked him up. Our dog has never bit anyone. As a dog owner, this is very alarming to hear. I find it hard to believe that as a business owner there is no camera footage. What if a dog is seriously injured? How do we believe what we are told? How do we see what exactly happened? Cameras are down for a large part of the day. Dog owners aren't even allowed to tour the inside part the facilities.
We have sent friends to this facility in the past and we are upset that things have not worked out. I do not think we were treated fairly. I feel with the exception of 1 or 2 workers, the staff does not know the dogs well enough to make the best decisions to keep them safe while they are there. While the location and pricing is convenient, after what we experienced, I would not recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy Maxie Boy (Chocolate Lab) loves it here! He gets to play with all of his friends during the day and sleep comfy at night! I have used Doggie Paradise several times to board Max overnight or just daycare during the day. He has stayed there for as long as a week and when he is boarded overnight he gets a free exit bath and comes home nice and soft. I do remind them of his allergy to chicken whenever he stays there. A few times he has come home SUPER thirsty and the one time was just from a bath so I would like him to get more opportunity to drink during the day. Even if he is only there for a bath, I think he'd get the opportunity to drink water at some point being that he was there for 3+ hours. Other than that they are great! I LOVE the web cams. It gave us an opportunity to check on him while we are on vacation and the kids love seeing him on the screen. Max will usually come home from his 'vacation' exhausted from playing so much that he'll sleep for about 24 hours when he gets home. LOL As long as he is safe, fed and clean we are all happy! Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDoggie Paradise is a reliable dog daycare center that I have used many times. Itās open 7 days a week and opens at 7 am on weekdays and 8 am on weekends. Closing time is at 7pm with slight leniency on late daycare pick ups.
My dog seems to enjoy being there and has no issue spending 8+ hours there. I can watch him with the other dogs on camera which is pretty neat. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and enjoy being with the dogs. They do a very good job of making both pick up and drop off painless experiences. I will say however that pricing is a little on the high end.
The only bad experience Iāve had with this place is the one day my dog came home smelling like urine so he needed a bath. So far, this has only happened one, so it probably was my dogs fault. I would recommend this place to people looking for a reliable dog...
