Beautiful manor house that makes for an amazing wedding venue. I had the pleasure and the privilege to photograph a wedding here, and boy, is it beautiful. Weddings take place literally in the thick of the history and it makes for a cinematic looking experience. The guests at my wedding had a blast (as you can see from the pictures). I had a blast photographing the experience. Fantastic staff and great eats. Tons of room for dancing and the grounds are extensive!

My experience at Stonehurst was very good. Staff were professional and accommodating with food and drink service. I really enjoyed the historical charm, such as the sundial written with Latin! For improvement, please fix the accessible restroom. The stall door and main power door are too close together, hitting my foot while exiting and pulling my chair sideways a few times.

Awesome trails for walking, biking. Responsible off leash dog community. Vernal pools. Large enough to feel lost in nature but small enough to pop in for a quick. escape. Large parking lot, benches and fields at the adjoining Paine estate.

There were a lot of great trails, but sadly the estate was closed when I went…look at the size of that tree though! The blueberry trail had some blueberries. I ate one.

The trails are not marked very well. We were 1st time visitors and we voted a couple of times on which way to go. We really did not get lost.

Description
The Robert Treat Paine Estate, known as Stonehurst, is a country house set on 109 acres in Waltham, Massachusetts. It was designed for philanthropist Robert Treat Paine in a collaboration between architect Henry Hobson Richardson and landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted.
