I've ordered from a lot of food establishments around Waltham, many of which are pizza places, but never have I had such a terrible experience as I did with Waltham Pizza.
I ordered three dinners and an order of cheesy garlic bread for delivery. The salad that was supposed to come with one of the dinners was missing when my order arrived. On top of that, one of the other dinners was missing entirely.
I called Waltham Pizza to report the issue and even trying to get through to them was an unpleasant experience. The first time I called, I was sent to a voicemail box which was full. The same thing happened the second time I called. On the third try, a woman answered but immediately put me on hold. After being on hold for 10 minutes, I called a fourth time from another phone (while my first call was still on hold), and was immediately put on hold again.
I finally got through on my fifth attempt. When I told her that one of my dinners was missing, she admitted that she intentionally sent out my order with items missing because they were "out of pasta". So instead of doing the right thing and calling me to let me know, she sent my order out incomplete and still charged me for the missing items. When I asked for a refund, she said that she was too busy and that I would need to deal with Grubhub instead.
The food that I did manage to receive was terrible. The cheesy garlic bread was burned and was overpriced for the amount you get. The cheeseburger was low quality (I've cooked better cheeseburgers at home) and it was cold. The French fries that came with it were also cold.
The food was bad and the service was the worst I've ever experienced. There are lots of other (better) pizza places in Waltham to choose from, I see no reason to ever order from Waltham...
Read moreI was there on the evening of 3/4/23 and did not have a great experience. The staff was nice enough but I had placed an online order for 3 pizzas that was completely missed. I came in 35 minutes after I ordered and the printout was just sitting on the printer. They said they could make the pizzas fast. I knew it would be downhill from there. They were done as fast as possible but they still took over 20 minutes, When I went up to pay, I was rung up wrong...it happens....they added an extra pizza instead of a slice. They gave me the new total. I knew it was still wrong but wanted to leave at this point...it was my son's birthday. What I was not given was the 10% discount for ordering online. I assume that was because the order was keyed in since it was missed. We are talking $5-6 buck so not a big deal. BUT, it is/was the icing on the cake of a terrible experience. The final straw...the pizzas were terrible. The 2 chees pizzas were paper thin...raw on the bottom and cooked to a dry crisp on top. One of them was actually torn...that's how thin it was. The peperoni pizza was ok I guess...just not as bad as the 2 cheese. I don't like doing this to a local business but from start to finish (the staff was nice enough about the missed order), bad experiences. I was shocked they didn't offer me a discount for missing the order and keeping me waiting for over 20 minutes...but then to be over charged... I would suggest to avoid based on...
Read moreOver the past year Waltham Pizza has really stepped up it's game. I previously talked alot of trash and rated 1 star. While I did have a bad experience then, it's gotten significantly better since. WP went from a shop I would never consider to one of my regular options.
Favorite item from me is the Steak and Cheese Subs, they are absolutely amazing. My previous rating was based on only pizza. I no longer stand behind that either. It used to be cardboardy, dry, and almost stale. But in recent times it has become average. Juicy, greasy and fresh.
I still don't think it's the best pizza in Waltham, but I didn't give it enough credit last time, and my experience with it has gotten much better.
If you want the best steak and cheese in the city, and average pizza this is now a good choice.
If you're all about pizza though, I would recommend Athens Pizza in Waltham. For Calzones I would recommend Alexander's Pizza in Lexington (Though they do deliver to parts of Waltham)
Original Review: People, theres a better option right down the street. Don't even think about...
