Update: I've been going here for the last 3 months or so. Since I gave my rave review, things have gone down hill. Originally who did such a good job, stoped working there by my second appointment.~Chewie Kat the owner became my new nail artist. Work not as good as Chewie but she offers natural methods, so I continued. I get my nails done every two weeks. I asked her for a standing appointment on Thursdays.Thought she put me in the books. But she called me the Wednesday before my appointment to tell me she had accidentally scheduled someone and had not made my appointment standing. I had to go an additional week to get back on the schedule. It changed my day from Thursday to Tuesday. Two weeks ago Kat was not available on my scheduled day. Nancy did my nails. She is definitely not Chewie or Kat. She burned me several times with the drill and my nails had a gap. My nails looked like they were already two weeks old with the polish cuticle gap. My nails looked sup-par for two weeks. While I was getting my nails done that day, 2 other persons came in. They also had appointments. They could not get their nails done because Kat was not there. Yesterday, was again, my standing appointment. Kat had an emergency. My appointment was at 3:30. She left a message on my phone while I was driving on the way to the shop. I get to the shop and it is closed. She leaves a message and asks if I can come tomorrow. Tomorrow being today. I call the shop today around 1pm. to confirm my rescheduled appointment. Nancy confirms. I leave a meeting early to make this rescheduled appointment. On my way Kat calls again and says there is a miscommunication and she cannot service me until 4:30 or later. Apparently, Nancy when I called to confirm did not check the schedule and she has a language barrier (according to Kat) that she miscommunicated the time. So by now, two weeks since I've had decent nails. A missed appointment yesterday. A confirmation call that was not really confirmed. I have and event this evening and my nails look like HELL. I wait until 4:30 and because I questioned the lack of respecting my time, she said she would no longer service me. Kat does not respect time of her clients. Not just me but a few people that came in during my service times. When my time is not a priority that it is not a place I need to be. Caution to anyone who is time orientated.
Clean, Relaxing, Friendly and Professional. Chewie took wonderful care of me. My feet are smooth and silky. My nails are beautiful. She paid attention to every detail. This place is on a different level. Very Classy! This would be a great place to do a girls night or mother daughter outing. I've been looking for a new place, I...
Read moreI have been to this salon a total of 5 times. When they did my toes, it was okay. I got my nails done with gel polish twice and I had the same lady to do my nails. She was incredibly rude while doing my nails and talks on the phone the entire time sounding like a hyena (and yes they were all personal calls). The first time my nails were fine, but she was really slow (probably due to the fact she was on the phone the whole time). The second time she was just as slow, but the lady did not put enough coats on my nails. So the gel color had a blue tint to it when it was supposed to come out pink. I noticed and called them and the lady on the phone said that they will not change my color simply because I do not like it and that the color looks different on certain skin tone. It shocked me that the lady even brought up my skin tone. Yes, I am African American. However, it had nothing to do with my skin tone. I love the color, but I simply wanted them to fix it because it was obvious there was not enough coats. FYI certain gel polish colors are thinner than the others. In the event the polish is entirely too thin, the nail tech can put white first as a foundation and then put two coats of the thinner color that you desire. And no it should not chip if applied correctly!
I politely told them that I will not be coming back and I will stick to who I normally go to at Angel Nails on 12 & mound inside Meijer. Not only are they CHEAPER, the nail tech that does my nails there is 10...
Read moreMary Ann and her fellow nail technicians are top notch. They take appointments which is great when you don’t have a lot of time to sit around and wait. I’ve been getting my natural nails, with shellac, done by Mary Ann for years. I was hooked from the very first time. I actually couldn’t get into my regular place at the time and needed nails done. And man am I glad that I did! She takes her time and is very thorough with every nail. I have never felt like she is rushing, Which was important for me because I’ve had a lot of crappy nail techs rush through a job and then it shows in the work and then again when it starts falling apart 2 days later. I’ve also never brought in a picture of a nail art that she hasn’t been able to do, sometimes even better. When she polishes, IT STAYS. My nails have NEVER started chipping until after 2 weeks have passed, more often than not, 3. I feel very lucky to have found a nail tech that I can trust. Great place, great atmosphere, and great people. 200%...
