This venue was a thriving enterprise that fell vacant and derelict. It was restored as a modern multipurpose entertainment local. Considering Warren, a town of 30,000 can support three live music venues is amazing. Compared to its derelict state, the Robin is a very classic setting. Acoustics are very good as are most sight-lines. The 1,400 seats are spread between the floor and balcony. There are no boxes. Now for the downside. Seat accessibility for the mobility impared is limited with lots of stairs everywhere and no handrails to help. The carpeted steps are non-uniform in height or tread. With nothing to hold onto, this is a nightmare. The venue makes a big deal about "no pictures /no recording" but doesn't enforce it. At any time there were 30-50 cell phone recording the event to the annoyance of everyone else. With 10-20 staff, all it takes is bouncing one scofflaw to get everyone else to put the phones away. The online ticket system seem to have some bugs. If empty seats are an indicator, seats were marked taken that were empty. Not one or two seats but entire rows. Lastly, $105 for a seat at a show that was a 75 min set and 10 min encore is pricey by any standard. Is Warren better for having the Robin - yes. Is the Robin worth the price of admission - maybe yes, probably no. UPDATE: I received a very nice response to my review. And it is reasonable to consider that the third party vendor played a part. Lesson learned. But the balcony accessibility issues are a significant safety concern. Restoration authenticity took precedence over safety. Should a patron be injured, I don't think the authenticity arguement will prevail in a court of law. UPDATE 11/23: Lesson learned, I went to the box office in person to get tickets. Agent was wonderfully helpful. UPDATE 1/12/24: Attended a concert. Full house. Staff was helpful but gave us bad directions to our seats. I was surprised there was no technology available to help hearing impared folks. The community playhouse in Sharon had two systems available that were a huge help. When I inquired, the staff had no idea what I was talking about but suggested 10min after the show start, I could move closer. Dude, I can see fine, it's my hearing that sucks. This is a beautiful venue but if you can't hear the acts, it's like an architectural museum,...
Read moreMy fiancé and I had a very nice experience here when we went to see “Animaniacs In Concert.”
The restoration of the theater itself is gorgeous. It’s definitely a unique venue that adds a lot of character to downtown Warren! Customer service was great — they had to make some seating changes prior to the show, and I was contacted several days prior to the show about this by someone at the theater. She was professional and prompt in her responses, and the situation was handled very smoothly.
My only two complaints: the legroom is terrible! While it’s super cool that they restored the original seats, even as a fairly small-framed 5’8” tall woman, I was cramped in the seats. I’d definitely recommend aisle seats for anyone who is in the talk side.
Second, there were some serious problems with the sound. One performer’s mic kept cutting out throughout the performance, and even when they switched it at intermission, the situation didn’t improve at all. The performers were obviously frustrated with the experience, and understandably so.
Overall though, a great experience! I am definitely eager to find another event to attend here...
Read moreFirst time in this venue and it’s everything they said it would be. I love how they stayed true to the architecture of the building….. had tickets for the WHO’s bad show and had great seats in row G. Speakers on side stage blocked the view of the show so it was very difficult to see. Also if you say the show starts at 8:00 pm then the show needs to start at 8:00 pm.. people were getting restless and cranky by 8:20 pm and show still had not started….
Show started at 8:30 and the show is amazing. Excellent sound… great moves and a throwback to some old school Michael Jackson…
Food for thought… out of respect for the artists who live off of these performances, video taping should not be allowed. You have staff on the sides of the aisles who can control this. You DO NOT see this in Vegas when you go to a show or Pittsburgh when you go to a show. To me it just cheapens the show and I have watched several people posting video to Instagram and Facebook. Definitely not fair to the artists performing. However, great...
