ML "Red" Trabue Nature Reserve — Attraction in Washington Township

I love this trsil/park! Mainly because of the Karrer pond that's so close to it. It really is gorgeous any season at any time. They have paved paths and also unpaved l. The wooded areas are filled with amazing beautiful tall old trees. Typically you see a lot of wildlife both in and around the pond. A few families of deer like to settle in the tall grasses that the paths walk through. Chance's are you'll get a good glimpse of a family of deer. I advise you not to ice skate on the pond LOL. The Karrer pond can be fished without license and if proper size you're allowed to keep your catch. The pond has a dock and walkway with numerous benches and it Jets out far into the pond and it makes a perfect place for a family picnic or just a place to go sit and relax. This park was a very nice place to visit and walk, although they are doing some maintenance on the path which has sections of it closed for resurfacing. I also wanna note there are several branches that cut into different housing complexes. I didn’t notice any bathrooms, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one available . The tree Arboretum was absolutely awesome. I have never seen so many different tree species in one area in any of the arboretums that I have been to. A good portion of the trail was shaded, and the ponds were gorgeous. There was lots of wildlife as depicted with a couple videos I submitted. There is also a fishing pier and dock. Excellent walking trail (2 miles), very beautiful scenery, nice displays ( Log cabin) & a statue of a boat suspended by columns, one spot has about every tree known to humans, multiple ponds and the bog nature preserve with a fishing 🎣 pond ( you don't need a fishing license to fish there) great way to introduce/take the kiddo's fishing for the 1st time or multiple times throughout the summer 🌞!!!
