(Updated) I came back since Los Jimadores changed owners and changed names and it's been a big improvement! I came at an off time but the food was way better than it had been when this place was still Amigos. The steak in my food was seared perfectly and excellently seasoned. A marked improvement. The decor is nicer and the seating is much more open. It's still not my favorite Mexican restaurant within 10 miles but it's become a much more desirable option. I can at least say it's the best tex-mex north-west Columbus has to offer. (Outdated) Amigo's offers pretty standard tex-mex fare but I'd take it over El Vaquero any day of the week. The seafood and Texas burritos are pretty good, and if you're looking for someplace in close proximity to the hospital I struggle to think of anywhere you could do better for a dine-in experience. I forget the goofy name they have for it but the big blue margarita is worth a try. The saving grace of this place is that it's got no real competition nearby, but I can think of a few Mexican restaurants within 5 to 10 miles that offer more memorable meals.

This is the worst location, and only unpleasant experience I have had with El Vaquero restaurants. I will stick to the one a little further away in Shawnee Hills (makes no sense why they have 2 so close to each other anyway). We entered, and there were 3 ladies at the bar, only 1 other table seated. They sat us rather quickly, but it was downhill from there. Even with a nearly empty restaurant, they weren't the least bit attentive, which you can see from the picture of the bar and open dining area, that their focus was on their personal conversations. We had to request to place an order, no refills offered on water, and while we sat for 10min trying to make eye contact with someone to get our check and boxes, they continued to chat with each other. The food was delicious as always, although the carnitas was about 75% thick, greasy, gelatinous fat, and 25% tender meat. Guac was amazing!

This is always our go to stop when we want Mexican food. The food is always delicious and comes quick. They just revamped their menu it looks like and some new items added. The picture shows one of the new items and it just happens to be my new favorite. My only negatives would be atmosphere and the salsa. The atmosphere is kinda quiet and blah. Not a bad thing if you're with a group and want to focus. The salsa they definitely make in house and it's hot or miss. Not very consistent.

Amigos used to be the only Mexican restaurant we'd frequent. But steadily, their customer service and food quality has been declining ... to the point where we will no longer go back. My wife decided to give it another try this week, but unfortunately, had the worst customer service experience she's ever had ... at any restaurant.

The wait staff was poor at best. My wife and her friend had to flag them down the whole night just to put in their orders. The orders were messed up several times throughout the evening. The waiters had to ask other staff members to come to the table for assistance several times throughout the night. And the bill was incorrect. (they were willing to correct one part of it, -- a kid's milk that was charged but never delivered -- but not some incorrect drink orders. please read on.)

On top of all of this, my wife had a negative experience with one of the staff members. Upon arriving, she asked about the happy hour margaritas and learned that only the "house" version was on special. She and her friend each ordered one, only to find out later that they were served -- and charged for -- the more expensive "original" version. My wife went to the staff member to explain the situation (politely). He got defensive and rude in tone right away -- almost as if she was trying to pull one over on him. He said, "No, no, no. You ordered the original and you drank it. I will not adjust the price." My wife reminded him of the conversation at the beginning of the night, where she clarified the happy hour special ... and said she didn't realize that what she was served was not what she asked for. He didn't care and was still not willing to change the bill.

My wife and her friend stayed longer to finish their drinks (because of the more expensive price and unwillingness to change the bill), and during that time, they were asked several times if they were leaving -- despite explaining why they were staying/finishing their drinks.

It's unfortunate to be leaving a bad -- but honest -- review of Amigos. Very...

This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had. I placed a delivery order with this restaurant. Specifically, the one at Perimeter Drive. The door dasher arrived. I advised the dasher that half the order was missing. He then called DoorDash. DoorDash called me. I explained the issue and doordash confirmed that they refunded the restaurant for the entire order as half of the order was missing; the other half was damaged by what appeared to be flipped over and/or some items opened and reflowed, but my money would have to be refunded by the restaurant since I ordered for their website. DoorDash then called the restaurant and connected me with the restaurant who told me they would refund me for one item and hung up on me. The manager was a female and needs fired. I will not order from here again until she is gone. Her behavior and lack of professionalism is disgusting. I called back and she again hung up on me. I then tried again to call back. After 25 min of ringing with no answer, I tried DoorDash again. They tried calling the restaurant twice; again. No answer. I highly recommend eating anywhere else other than...

Very disappointed in the service of this restaurant. Requested there be no cheese or dairy of any kind on our food, guacamole came with cheese, frozen daiquiri with whipped cream, beans also had melted cheese that couldn't easily be removed easily (I'm not one to send food back and would rather pick around what shouldn't be there). My boyfriend also didn't get the sauce he ordered in place of the cheese sauce so the burrito was missing a key component to the dish. We never were able to get the server's attention to let him know of any of this, despite walking by our table with his head purposely turned toward other tables and the bar exactly four times before we had to sort of shout for him to come over, only to be given no apology and asked if we wanted boxes to take our food home. Did not discount bill or comp dishes that came out wrong. I was very upset by this experience and chose not to talk to management due to not wanting to lose my cool (it is only food.) I will just not return, but do encourage the management to address how their servers choose to take care or (or not) their...
