Very disappointed but I tried to temper my expectations…drove all the way from Richmond to see what this pavilion was all about. Have seen YT videos of skaters having a good time so I wanted to check it out. Got here before 10am but trash everywhere, rocky pathway to get to rink and then no place to sit down and put on skates because rink is filthy with puddles and debris from outside on the steps around the rink. Extremely strong odor of urine and trash and debris just laying around even though city workers are out here cleaning….bball courts next to it have trash around the fenced in area as well.Unfortunately can’t get my time or gas money back…Only good thing was that they were playing some decent music for the 25 minutes I was here, although my plan was to stay for a couple of hours. Bones wheels were green when I went in and coming out there are yellowish brown😂😂😂unfortunately I won’t be back. Works only if you have absolutely no other place to skate…it’s a shame because it has the potential to be cool...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to visit our roots, so to say we got our old time spot near the skatinkg rink and dock on the 4th of July, 2023. It was a beautiful thing to see the diversity. All was well until nature called...both men's rooms were out of commission and one of the ladies' restrooms was closed the other...the one outside the skating rinks was an absolute mess! Plain Nasty! The floor was wet...like a low puddle wet, no soap and just unsanitary, good thing I wore tennis shoes and not sandles that day. How is a park opened to the public on a holiday or any day so unkept. Madame, Ms., Honorable Mayor, would you please have/partition/ask the National Park Service and or have the DC Government do a better job at keeping the restrooms AVAILABLE, FUNCTIONAL, & CLEAN at all...
Read moreI remember going here last year. It was a cool experience. I got to see a lot of great rollerskaters and families having a good time. However, it was only partially open. They advertised that they do roller skate rentals but the station was closed (it was the beginning of the season, COVID-19, and whatever other reason). I haven’t gone back to see what it is like when everything is in full effect. There were some people who brought a stereo so everyone could hear some music as they skated. There are also people with headphones in. My point is that even when the place is not fully “open and running” you can still have a good time skating. But I’m taking a star away because there were two huge puddles at the edge of either side of the rink that needed to be filled up as of...
