This library is so cold, even the icicles have icicles. Unless they have Ötzi the Iceman in the basement, there is no reason to keep the library that cold in the middle of summer! I appreciate their providing refuge from the swampy, exhausting DC humidity and heat, but this is to the point that it is excessive. It’s a shame considering the environmental impact.
Otherwise the study rooms are pretty nice and the staff is fantastic! Booking rooms online is a breeze. I do wish they had more of a collection in-building, but I get the impression this was intended to be more a workspace than traditional library. The building inside is pretty cool and modern, very comfortable.
Sending a supportive shoutout to our local librarians, thank you for all that you do! We...
Read moreThe library is amazing! I haven't used a library in years, but I've been going to this one consistently for a couple months now and it's AMAZING what they offer! Use the library! Enjoy the perks! I'm still discovering new ones. The study rooms are so easy to reserve and getting work done in them is so pleasant and easy. The Wi-Fi is incredibly fast, the outlets are convenient, and the whiteboards in each are a nice touch. They're also super clean and kept at a great temperature. The whole space is gorgeous and has a bunch of great places to sit, read, and do work. I'm still finding new perks, but the reserving of rooms and the free printing are amazing resources, in addition to what you'd normally expect from the library! Also... having a library card gets me free access to so many things I never would have thought of, like premium accounts to language learning apps. Highly recommend being a...
Read moreI will never return to this library. A man upstairs began loudly threatening to shoot up the building, causing multiple visitors to leave immediately, yet no employees nearby responded to diffuse the situation. I then alerted the librarians at the front desk, who gave me attitude as if I'd bothered them by trying to protect other civilians. They said this man is a regular and rarely causes violent issues, as if that is some sort of justification for either his or their behavior. Do yourselves a favor and head to a different branch! Good riddance, and I hope this library's management soon hires more proactive and productive attendants, for the safety of everyone at the library. Surely, for my own security, I will never return!
If you see this man (see photo), please leave and find...
