I had a scheduled birthday party for my daughter's first birthday! I will never recommend another party here. SO now let the chaos begin, when I arrived for the birthday party a hostess/party attendant along with a cart were to be waiting in the foyer to assist with gifts, cake, decorations etc., yet to my surprise my party attendant left for the day and 5points had no ideal and no one bother to assist me until I asked front desk staff . I waited in the foyer with party materials in hand, daughter on my hip and party guest arriving as we were waiting as staff searches for a replace attendant. Party is now 40 minutes or more behind schedule. Once an attendant was available my guest were then I rushed in/out the pool. I was informed months prior the entire pool including the competiton pool was open for use. When I arrived only the baby pool and poor ventilation in the swimming area were availiable...Following swimming, the party room was a disaster cake in floor and tables from previous guest. A manager then got word of the disaster and assisted as she yelled to custodians on a walkie talkie that,"if someone does not come to clean party room she will be doing write up's" . My guest felt this was unprofessial along with myself. In addition the pool party is falsely advertised the party package includes ballons for the tables mine had 3 balloons on the floor, and the cake was dry and stale. For a Sunday party the included cake taste as if it was made a week prior. After all the manager on duty apologized along with the replacement attendant and told me to take my time as the party was a Mess. However, the next day on Monday I received a call from five points event coordinator stating I owe 60.00 for my party going over the scheduled 2hrs. I felt this was ridiculous under the conditions of my party attendant going M.I.A and the mess that needed to be cleaned from a previous party as well as the attendant and manager statements of taking my time due to the inconvenience. Five points even coordinator apologized after I enlightened her on the party and lack of professionalism. She then state shes sorry AND disregard the 60.00, but I felt again this was unprofessional and an attack on my character because she called me the customer prior to accessing the entire situation with her staff . I WILL NEVER DO OR RECOMMEND ANYONE DO BUSINESS UNTIL A NEW EVENT...
Read moreThis is the second dance recital I've attended at Five Points, and it really drives home how much community-need there is for a large, public, well-maintained, multi-use space. Both the staff and facility here are amazing!
I personally experienced how an overwhelmed staff kept their cool through a weekend overfull with MLSD Dance Recital, birthday parties, open swim, and a baseball game across the street. Why is the last one relevant? Because the baseball fans were a bunch of rabid savages who took all the parking at Five Points to save themselves a bit of a walk.
I witnessed little girls and mothers in tears, grandparents frantically looking for ANY place to park in an unfamiliar community, fathers ready to explode; yet, even in such a horrifically stressful and miserable situation, the Five Points staff not only policed the human menagerie, they also did so in a polite, respectful manner mindful of the persistent rise of COVID-19 infections.
For example: my wife lost her phone the evening before during recital and the facility manager was kind enough to provide a guide backstage to where iOS claimed the phone to be. It turned out to be under a very kind person's seat, who called me after I updated the "lost" alert screen. Thankfully, I was easy to locate as I was standing onstage.
Personally, I did not see a single staff member who was not wearing a mask; which is good, considering I'm personally aware of the onset of active COVID-19 infections among at least 3 persons who were in attendance on June, 4th 2022. It could be a coincidence, but better that there were masks worn than not.
Overall, a fantastic facility with near-perfect execution.
(The only flaw I can find is that there isn't a parking control device that will raise spikes into the tires of lazy baseball fans who can't be bothered to think through the downstream consequences of their actions; however, I'm confident this could be achieved with some volunteers from the Sheriff's department kind enough to lend their mobile...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed in the way my husband and I were treated today. We came in hoping to get a membership set up. Initially we saw that there was only 1 young lady behind the counter. She was already helping another gentleman get a membership set up. She gave us a paper to look at while she finished up with him. After we saw the gentleman leave, my husband and I just waited to the side until she was ready to help us. At first we just assumed she eas getting paperwork ready. We really weren't sure. So, we just kept patiently waiting. Like I said, she was the only one behind the counter. While we kept waiting she kept answering people's questions and was directing them to where they needed to go. She really was busy. Then an older lady came to the counter to help out. That's when she helped a lady and her children get signed up for swim classes. While she was doing that, I decided to stand at the counter again just to see how much longer it was going to be. The older lady said, "what do you need? Is it going to be quick?" I then told her that we were hoping to get signed up for a membership. She said that the other young lady would be back soon. So, we kept waiting. The younger girl came back. Still no acknowledgement from either lady. It was about the time where my husband and I were considering just coming back another time that the older lady said, "have you been helped?" We just said that we were told to wait and that we wanted to get a membership set up. The younger lady said very snarkily, "if you'd like a membership, you have to come to this computer over here". Both ladies acted like they didn't even know we were there. We were waiting patiently because we could see that they were busy. The young lady should have said, "ok I can help you over here". She knew we were there to get a membership started and she just very blatantly ignored us. And the older lady pretended like she didn't just speak to me 5...
