Having to decide the final resting place for a love one is never an easy decision. Deciding to have my Wife interred at St. Paul’s Rock Creek Cemetery has proven to be perfect for me. We both grew up primarily in NorthWest (NW) DC and raised our beautiful daughters in NW. Not once did I ever enter inside the gates of St. Paul’s Cemetery. However, immediately upon entering I felt a sense of calmness and reassurance that this was the perfect final resting place for the both of us. My spirit could feel my Wife’s smile of confirmation. I was overwhelmed when I realized one “eternal day” my Wife and I will be whole, together, and at peace with our Heavenly Father.
Brandon and Edelmira at St. Paul’s Cemetery outstanding customer service confirmed I was making the right decision the moment I entered. There were no pressure sale tactics or push for upsell purchases. Brandon greeted me and asked a few questions but more importantly he listen to what I wanted. He offered valuable insight and showed compassion as I bombarded him with lots of questions before signing the contract. Edelmira caught an error that I made and signed off on before she submitted the paperwork. The error would have been costly to me. As I left the office I felt a huge burden lifted off my shoulders.
Thank you so much Brandon and Edelmira !!! May God bless you in kind for your...

Not only if this cemetery sizeable and with many gems inside, it's next door to another equally interesting cemetery- Soldiers Home Cemetery. Both are located in the Northeast neighborhood of Fort Totten close to several restaurants, parks, and even breweries.
As you walk through the main gate, you'll read a sign that notes the cemetery was established in 1887. However, its story begins in 1719 when Maryland was under British rule. The cemetery was in the churchyard of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. When the British left, the area became part of D.C., and years later, it became Rock Creek Cemetery.
The cemetery itself has well-kept paths through the property. There are thousands of gravestones, mausoleums, and sculptures. There's also a chapel in the center of the property. The cemetery houses not only politicians but also athletes, writers, journalists, etc. One of the best-hidden gems inside is the Adams Memorial in honor of a photographer. You'll know you stumbled upon it when you see a circle of well-kept bushes. There's a small path leading inside to the...
Read moreThe staff at Rock Creek Cemetery, notably Ms. Terry, were kind, understanding, and helpful from the first phone call to the most recent email. I had never before had to go through the process of choosing a burial site or burying a loved one. Ms. Terry explained the entire process and was very patient when I was choosing a site. In fact, she found me the perfect site in the section I was interested in. The arrangements on the day of interment were flawless in spite of my obvious nervousness. The entire process was handled professionally by all involved, and the kindness was palpable and did not waver. Many may know that there are many notables and luminaries buried in this cemetery. The treatment I received for my departed loved one, made me feel very much like she was...
