I wasn't expecting much out of this park but was pleasantly surprised. It's just an open field and some wooded areas covering the Civil War embankments but lots of trails through the woods. It is definitely not a quiet spot though-- lots of construction and garbage truck traffic around there. Not as much trash as I expected, though lots of bits of...

You can still hear the metro, the transfer station and traffic, and I'd prefer you can't drive through part. But we go hiking with small kids here at least once a month. A nice little urban...

Very important history occurred here. Without fort totten, fort Stevens would have fallen during a Confederate attack on Washington DC in 1864. A few nice walking trails lead you around...
