You're probably reading the reviews and after enough reading will stop and go, "Wait, did that guy submit two different reviews?" The answer is yes, but my fiancee doesn't leave Google Reviews so I wanted to leave one reflecting our combined feedback too just to show two different jobs done (engagement ring & wedding bands) and two happy customers.

In my last review, I bought an engagement ring for my fiancee and you can read all about it there. This time, my fiancee and I together bought our wedding bands for a wedding later this year (note I won't publish the pics until afterwards just to not spoil it for any mutuals possibly reading this).

The summary: Hamid will take care of you. Wedding bands could seem incredibly simple. I learned very quickly that they're not simple, but his attention to detail helped me sort through the surprisingly numerous options to find what I prefer. What guy thinks about his wedding band and what he'd want ahead of time? Not me. I can see what I like/dislike and get guided to an opinion with the right help though, and Hamid was my guide.

Hamid walked us through the different looks of wedding bands with plenty of examples and opportunities to try on the ones in store to get a feel (don't worry, he disinfects them between customers). Then he worked with us over text to confirm our engraving and went the extra mile to ensure a special design request for the engraving happened the right way. The product really shines and it's not just from the polish. The engravings were done exactly as we hoped. The rings are gorgeous and my ring design that he helped me figure out looked really good on my finger when I tried it on.

If you're reading this in 2021 (and maybe 2022), you're probably dismayed at the rising price of everything. Suddenly, everything became a lot more expensive. Hamid looked out for us here too by allowing us to place a deposit that locked in the price of the gold which saved us $$ because gold jumped in price in between our original deposit and picking up the final product today.

Lastly, you're probably wondering what sort of care Hamid gives after the product is done. Since the engagement ring in July 2020, he has resized, cleaned, and checked on the ring over the past year or so. For what it's worth, the prongs for the engagement ring are still in great shape despite 9-10 months of use and no stones are at risk of falling out. I have gone to this store for many years for watch and ring repairs. Several years ago, I went in for a new battery to be installed in my Cartier watch. The owner called me to say that the watch needed to be re-built. He offered to do the work for $800, provided that I agreed to never complain if the watch subsequently broke. I agreed. About five years later, the metal bracelet of the watch broke. I thought it just needed a new pin inserted, and brought it to Town Jewelers for repair. The owner's son told me that he could see that his father had already fixed the bracelet when he re-built the watch, it had not held, and he could not fix it again. He advised me to take it to Cartier. Cartier said that the bracelet could not be repaired and replaced the bracelet with a leather band. Shortly thereafter, the watch stopped working. I took it to Town Jewelers for a new battery. The son of the owner said that he could not open the watch to replace the battery because the screws inserted into the back of the watch case were not the original screws and would not come out. I took the watch to Cartier for a new battery. Cartier told me (i) it had not inserted the screws in question, and (ii) someone had inappropriately opened and closed the watch, letting in moisture. Town Jewelers is the only place other than Cartier that I have taken my watch and Cartier does not use screws other than those made expressly for Cartier so I have to believe that the ill-fitting screws were inserted by Town Jewelers. I went to Town Jewelers today to tell the owner what Cartier said had happened to the watch. I did not ask for any recompense; I simply wanted to tell the owner what had happened. The owner denied having inserted the non-original screws, and told me that there was nothing he could or would do to help me. Unless I sink another $500 into the watch for repairs, my watch is now worthless. I will not return to Town...

I feel like I can't give a truly accurate review here without sounding hyperbolic, but, that risk aside, Hamid and team provided absolutely superb service to me and went over and beyond the week of my wedding. I would recommend them to anyone over any other jeweler in the DMV; and we will 100% be coming back to work on my fiancé's wedding band and future pieces.

I came in four days before the wedding (in the late afternoon) asking for a wedding band and having essentially no clue what I needed. Other places I called were not easy to deal with and required appointments too far into the future for us, or online options that seemed counterproductive. But, within literally 15 minutes of talking to Hamid and looking at rings, I had found exactly what we wanted (material, sizing, style, etc.) and I was reassured that they could get the ring made, including our engraving request, within a couple of days.

It was clear that Hamid new exactly what he was doing--and that it pays off to be a fourth generation jeweler and artist in this kind of situation lol. Unbelievably, I got a call the very next morning that they had called in a favor to get the ring made quickly--and, even more incredibly, when I came in to get it, Hamid also gifted me one of their in-house watches as a wedding present. A beautiful watch. It was an exceedingly generous gesture.

Moreover, working with them on the ring design was so easy that I suspect anyone could find what they need here no matter the piece or preferences. Also, to make things even more absurd, his wife is a baker and they had delicious fresh cookies--I inhaled two and wish I had more. No wonder they've been an institution for decades in Cleveland Park--expertise and class beyond measure! We will...
