VERY LOUD! Repeat VERY LOUD in this library. Lots of kids and their parents doing activities on 1st floor that can be heard all the way to 3rd floor. Very OPEN/LOUD concept design.
That said...it's much more useful than the original 2-story cinder block building it was. There are outdoor decks accessible from the 1st and 3rd floors. The 3rd floor has a gorgeous circular view of Langdon/Chuck Brown Park and Rhode Island Avenue with lounge chairs and coffee tables - more for relaxed studying or reading. There are power receptacles at each seating area.
For quiet, you can reserve a study/meeting room. There are tons of family and themed activities for babies - seniors at this location. There's always something to get involved in no matter your interest.

They've always been super helpful and many long-time staff members are...

Collection: With three levels, they have thousands of books, magazines, DVDs, etc. There's a large area for children and plenty of computers for the public.
If you are in the area, stop by one of their daily events. If you're into photography, the third floor patio is a prime location...
