For the Printing Department : I brought a Microsoft Publisher document that I needed printed, folded in half, & stapled (a booklet). How hard is that? First the employee converted it to a PDF and had problems printing it (I didn't know he converted oy to a PDF at that point). After 15 minutes of struggling, he showed me the printed booklet but somehow, it had two blank pages right in the middle of the booklet & the employee told me that was the best he could do. Of course I wasn't happy but was going to accept this. I then noticed that it didn't print the last page at all. I brought this to the employees attention and he acted puzzled. After another 5 minutes he said "I'm just going to try printing it from the Publisher file." Well, why wouldn't he have just done that from the start? No idea. After another 10 minutes, he still can't print it because somehow, the program or good computer was inserting an extra page. He asked his coworker for help but still couldn't print it as it was laid out. Keep in mind, I had no issue printing it exactly the way it was laid out in the program in my office and my printer is not even as close as high-tech as theirs, which is why I brought it to them to begin with - because their machine folds the page in half and staples it. He flat out told me he couldn't help me. After 35 minutes. That's it - Staples print shop could not print a simple booklet. If I didn't have to get to a dentist appointment, I might have asked for a manager to see if they had any more knowledge than the employee, but I couldn't spend any more time there. I was just in complete disbelief that they couldn't complete a simple...
Read moreI just put the one star because of the crappy service I got from this store.... If it had the option to put 0 star I would. I went here on a Tuesday night for simple business cards. It was no where difficult what I was asking for. The un trained, lazy looking employee behind the counter had me there for about 30 mins because she clearly did not know how to place the orders of the cards inspite of fact I emailed her the logo. Long story short, after 30 minutes she said ok order is placed , I asked when will it be done , she said I don't know we will call you, (Weird) I asked ok how much is it she responded oh no you have to pay now ( Bull Crap).
6 days later I go to the store because no one is yet to call me, when I get there I explained to an employee that I had placed an order with some girl that clearly looked like she had no idea what the hell she was doing and then they asked me for my company name to look up order. Sure enough there was never an order placed...... I then see some lazy look like lady walk in to the store in her PJ's and a coat to pick up her check and sure enough it was her....even lazy to put some dam clothes on and comb her hair.... Never did i go back and will i ever.... if you need printing of cards ,etc go to your local print shop....staples uses them regardless....... crappy service plainfield store....get it...
Read moreI actually had a print manager chase me down while walking to the parking lot today over a $2.75 shredding fee. I thought the shredding services were free or county-based. The employees saw me leave; if it were a paid service why not just approach me then as oppose to causing a scene and attempting to embarrass me? The way this print manager's reaction was completely inappropriate given the situation was so trivial. I would have happily paid the fee and DID. I reached out to a front-desk manager to also let him know my actions were not intentional. The manager was (I suppose because he heard my voice) condensending, dismissive, and abrupt. It's a shame because I had pretty good experiences in the past. Please do not assume anything about anyone. I am a small-business owner who could have brought quite a bit of business to this location. The same people you minimize, dismiss, and treat poorly could be same people who dismantle your business. Please retrain your managers, their titles have clearly gone over their heads and they've forgotten they are there to service the public. We are the reason...
