Better Than Philly Cheesesteaks & Wings — Restaurant in Watchung

First time coming to this location I went on 11/14/22. My boyfriend wanted to try this place out since we were already shopping in the center. He had ordered the Philly cheese steak and at first I wasn't planning on eating anything from there but I thought might as well try it out. When I asked the rude lady working at the front if the chicken Philly was good she just laughed. I was trying to ask her what she recommended but she was giving the bare minimum answers. Her responses weren't enough for me to be like oh okay that sounds good I'll get that. So I went on Yelp really quick to look at reviews since she wasn't being very helpful. And this lady had the audacity to say "are you gonna stand there on your phone or are you gonna order something?". My boyfriend continued on to tell her I was just looking at Yelp and I showed her my phone. After that comment though I didn't even wanna order anything. So I just walked away. There wasn't any other customers in the store and I looked at my phone for maybe a minute. There wasn't many pictures of the food itself on Yelp which was what I was more interested in looking at just so I can get a better idea of the kind of food they had and if any of it looked appetizing to me personally. I work in a restaurant myself serving so I know how customers should be treated and I would never say a remark like that to any of my customers. I would simply just ask if they needed some more time. Or if I had something else to attend to I would just let my customer know I have to take care of something and I will be right back. What she said came off very rude and nasty. For starters this place closes way to early ! 6pm EDT I understand being short staffed in this work climate but for having a food business in a mostly retail dominated shopping square/plaza with little competition seems crazy to me.

I walked in around 5:50pm, only realizing they closed in 10 min. based on the makeshift paper sign they had posted on the door.

Off the bat the vibe seemed a bit cold and reminded me of a hospital cafeteria. I didn't see the passion or anything that made this location stand out from a customer's perspective.

When I finally got to the counter which seemed like forever I was told they were only doing pickups. No mention of any food items that could be prepared quickly or even try to sell me something to drink. Even after I told them it was my first time in this establishment, I was surprised they didn't even half attempt to gain my business.

I do a lot of work & home related purchases in this square so they really dropped the ball because I could have been a regular or even promoted it to my circle of influence.

Oh well, as they say in showbiz, the show must go on.

Best of luck to anyone trying to get food here anytime past 5:30pm. Other reviews seem to be mostly positive but like anything in life, due your diligence when it comes to where you spend your hard earned money.

I have heard good things about this place. So awhile back I order cheese steak over the weekend with a friend, her cheese steak was everything she wanted it to be, as for myself unfortunately it didn't work out, I order plain cheese steak due to being allergic to certain topping, like ketchup being one, got my sandwich covered in ketchup I called the next day which was sunday and they stated they were about to close but I could hurry and come in for a replacement, however time didn't permit that so I chalked up to lost and moved on even though I spent 30 or more dollars that night. So sometimes had passed and I wanted to give it a try again so I decided to order on door dash for the second time, and guess what my order yet again was incorrect, again with condiments I'm allergic too, and also this sandwich had mustard which I don't eat at all, when I tell you it was so much ketchup on this sandwich I couldn't even wipe it off to possibly save the sandwich to eat but I could have gotten extremely sick. I'm just trying to figure out do they even read what a person may or may not want on their sandwich at all. I never check off any of the topping or condiment that on the sandwich, but they were all on the sandwich anyway I could have eating the other stuff but the condiment where not supposed to be their. Food for thought please be mindful when people place orders because they may not want what would normally go on a sandwich due to allergies, or just don't eat those things. Unfortunately I will not...
