Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Watchung

I witnessed an employee enter the restroom shortly before I used it. When I went in, there was urine all over the floor. As a paying customer, I don’t expect to have to clean up a mess like that. I ended up placing toilet paper down and wiping the floor with my shoe just to make it usable — which was upsetting enough on its own.

Later, my friend used the restroom after me. The same employee returned to the bathroom, then came out and loudly yelled at my friend, saying “Toilet paper goes in the toilet bowl!” — completely uncalled for. We’re both autistic, and unfortunately, it often feels like people are quick to judge or assume the worst about us. It’s hard not to feel singled out when we’re treated like that.

Whether the mess came from the employee or someone before him, he would’ve seen it — and yet instead of addressing it appropriately, we were blamed and spoken to with open hostility. I’ve never been treated like this by any restaurant staff before.

The owner seems kind, which makes it even more disappointing that he didn’t step in or offer any kind of apology after the shouting — which he surely heard. I won’t...

Every single time I have ordered from here, it is always correct and as delicious as the first time. My go-to drink is usually the fruit smoothies - Mango Magic is my favorite. However, I've switched it up with other smoothies on the menu, too.

I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Ranch and Hot sauce on the side (to avoid a soggy wrap and I can proportion how much sauce I want in it). In the picture, it's the Acai Berry Boost smoothie.

I don't live by and have never gone to this location. My brother-in-law helps pick up my order whenever he has a smoothie craving and I always know what to get. I appreciate how the order is always fresh, and smoothies are always delicious.

If i could give 0 stars, i would. I normally order smoothies from here and they’ve always been great. Today, i placed an order for 4 smoothies - 1 peanut butter cup and 3 detox smoothies. We ended up throwing out all 3 detox smoothies as it tasted like straight up grass and was absolutely disgusting. Usually we’re able to taste the fruit and definitely the ginger but didn’t this time. It actually tasted like i picked grass from the ground and chewed on it. I called the store and spoke to Jimmy, who offered to give me 2 smoothies for 1/2 off. I paid $50 and the fact i would still have to pay for an additional smoothie is crazy. AVOID this location and...
