The pro for joining this health club facility is the price. You can't find a lower price in this area. The outside surroundings have a paved path for walking, bike riding and in-line skating. I have been able to get some nice photos in this area.

The cons are that the fitness center is dominated by a group of weightlifters who grunt very loudly, and slam their heavy weights on the floor making a lot of noise. Members call them the "grunters". The grunters bring their bags into the gym, and leave them where other people need to use the equipment. Lockers are provided for personal belongings. Dropping heavy weights on the floor and bringing unnecessary personal items into the workout area is against the facility's policies, but the rules are not enforced. The staff overlooks the grunters breaking the rules. The grunters also insist upon listening to hard rock music which is very distracting and irritating. I was told that the policy is to play adult contemporary music. That does not happen. The grunters have free reign over the gym causing many other members to leave without renewing their membership. The grunters use multiple pieces of equipment at the same time, and "save" equipment by leaving a personal item on the equipment. Why a small group of grunters have been allowed to take over this fitness facility is beyond me.

The bottom line is there are policies in place that are not being enforced. If they were enforced, the facility would be appealing to more people. The low membership fee is not incentive enough to renew...

Very disappointed in the room reservation process. Inquired mid February about late March to be told only the manager has access to the schedule and they only take reservations for each month starting on the first of that month. No wait list, nothing.

So we waited for the first and I went in person to reserve at lunch time to only to be told that there is a birthday party that weekend and requested spot is unavailable. I understand if community events take priority, but the system in place for other spots for residents doesn’t seem fair or helpful. Who really inquired first and why is it a race on the first of each month for those trying to plan ahead. What if you have a party on the 2nd? You wait to the 1st to find out? Now we are stuck At square one looking for a new venue 3 weeks out and changing address on invites partially due to a not very modern...

I love this town. The park district and the people running it are wonderful. The gym is such a deal with a great selection of equipment. Something I DON’T love about this town! I was just reading about concerts in the park. What ever happened to the $5 dollar brat’s? Really dumb idea who ever came up with that one. The brats were hot off the grill and delicious! Now you expect people to pay that for cold possible warm $9 dollar corn dog. VERY...
