My Flavor It! Place - Wauconda — Restaurant in Wauconda

We came today for the first time, the kids were very excited to try this place. We ordered two cups of ice cream, one mango and one strawberry and a shot cone.

As soon as we paid, we looked for tables to sit inside. The dining room was disorderly, tables and chairs were at random with no clear indicator of what chair belongs to what table since none were pulled up to any table. The tables looked off balanced and they all had fresh and dried up spills on them. Not inviting at all so we sat at the benches outside to enjoy our ice cream treat. The benches outside are nice, in the shade in the afternoon so not too hot.

The shot cone was fine, no different than what I can get at Mc Donalds, except much smaller and for the same price.

The mango ice cream cup was okay, didnt really taste like mango, we knew it was mango because we ordered mango but not so much for the flavor or color.

The strawberry ice cream cup was disappointing. There was so much syrup, it was way too sweet. Additionally, it was watered down so much, you could drink it with a straw. Its 83 degrees outside and Im sitting in the shade so its not like it melted from the time we paid to the time we sat down.

My son couldnt have his ice cream because of how sweet it was. We went back inside and asked the girl at the register if we could trade his cup for a regular vanilla ice cream cup since it was so sweet and so watered down. She didnt say a word, just turned around took our cup, got the new vanilla cup and set it on the counter. We politely said thank you but she didnt say a word. It was clear in her demeanor that she was bothered that we came back to the counter. We were polite the whole time but she was still clearly bothered.

Overall we didnt have a great experience. I dont think I'll come back.

I always like to support local businesses within Wauconda so we'll have to find a different local spot, if...

Honestly don't know how this place is in business. Ive been here two times now this being my second. Was not pleased my first visit so decided to give them another try and I'll never go back. I asked for the hot fudge brownie Sunday, they asked what size I wanted small regular or large...I saw absolutely no difference between the sizes but they charged me for a regular that was no different that the small. It cost me almost $6 dollars for a tiny poorly made cup of melted ice cream. They ran out of hot fudge while putting it on my Sunday and then didn't bother to put any on, the girl tossed on the brownie bites half assed and the ice cream was melted before I even got it. The picture on the website shows the hot fudge brownie Sunday with whipped cream and brownie bites all along the side of the cup and the girl couldn't of been lazier when she made mine. Too many kids working there with better things to do then their job. False advertise what the treats look like and are way over priced because kids works there and dont do their job well at all. I will go to McDonald's before I ever go back to this...

$22 in 2 ice creams/1 split and 1 shaved ice.

Both "Regular size" soft serve in cup.... half filled on both!! They knew I was frustrated. I ended up leaving without buying myself anything after seeing my kids/husband portions for price. Sure the young girls wanted to go back to sitting... ALL 3 of them were when we arrived. Waited to be served with no one in building. We will be sticking to Culver's...
